[edit] License tagging for Image:Citigroup.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Citigroup.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:06, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:World Financial Center in Lower Manhattan.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:World Financial Center in Lower Manhattan.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 05:13, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:NYPD.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:501381896 e9a7b6dec9 o.jpg. The copy called Image:501381896 e9a7b6dec9 o.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 06:00, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pictures of New York

I really like your pictures of NYC, they look great. - Presidentman (talk) Random Picture of the Day 12:39, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi Jbloun1. I think they're quite stunning too, but there have been issues with their addition to our New York City article. Please join the discussion on the talk page. Thanks. -- SiobhanHansa 14:22, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Civility to all users is required on Wikipedia

Our policy requires us all to be civil to other users. Your recent comment on Ian fortuno's talk page is not appropriate. Please do not leave similar messages again. If you disagree with a user's edits please try to discuss the issue in a reasonable manner with the intent of collaborating on making the encyclopedia better. [edit] New York City talk page edits

Hi JBouln1. Look I'm sorry if this all seems to be critical of your work or an attack on your efforts - it isn't meant to be. I really do think your images are quite stunning, some of them breathtaking. But there have been a few issues and we are a collaborative project that thrives on consensus so we try and talk these things out. You comment on the New York City talk page and then the replacing of the page with the article you'd like to see isn't a great way to build the support of other users, and is more likely to end up alienating others. But a bit of discussion and an attempt to address the concerns raised will likely see quite a few of the images you added go back into the article. I'd really like to try and work with you on getting there. -- SiobhanHansa 02:12, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edit warring

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. New York City -- SiobhanHansa 03:12, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Per your continued edit warring at New York City, I have blocked you for 24 hours. When your block is over, please discuss your edits with others on the talk page, and pursue dispute resolution if need be. If you wish to contest this block, you can add {{unblock|Reason for unblock}} to your talk page. Heimstern Läufer (talk) 08:21, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "Due to the fact that the New York City page is a mess, in which I really made thread better according to just about everybody except some girl we allow to make the greatest city in the world look like a pile of crap with amateur photographs. The majority of people got pissed off because SiobhanHansa keeps deleting the photos and new complaints on the discussion page about the new pictures."

Decline reason: "There is a tab on the top of the page next to "article" called "discussion." That tab leads to the talk page, where civil communication between users is facilitated. I suggest you use that page more often, and that you follow these guidelines and this policy. — Kurykh 06:41, 8 November 2007 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

If you could read the above paragraph, you will find that most of the people on the "discussion" page agreed to the changes... obviously you and the other indian girl changing the site are not working very hard, which is why the NYC page looks like it's a second rate city in Albania.

Stop conveniently "missing" the parts where I asked for "civil discussion." Your ludicrous attempts to paint me as ignorant aren't really working. Obviously you're working very hard trying to exalt yourself when we don't even care what RL social position you're in. —Kurykh 06:38, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 04:09, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Talk page

Please discuss changes on the talk page and get consensus. Cooperation and consensus among users on Wikipedia is critical for the site to work. Some issues that I have with your edits include

  1. You took out "Top of the Rocks" from the infobox - it is a crop of a featured picture. You can read about Featured picture criteria and the candidate page for that image: Wikipedia:Featured_picture_candidates/Top_of_the_Rock. Because it has been through this review process and judged for quality, we give deference to that.
  2. One thing that is important for featured pictures is resolution of the image. Image:Central_Park_New_York_City_New_York_23_cropped.jpg is 4648 × 3248 pixels while some of your images uploaded are less than 1000 px in dimension. The resolution is something that puts them at a disadvantage.
  3. Third consideration that has been discussed is that we want all the boroughs represented on the page, with pictures.

Aside from those considerations, I am open to discussion, as are other users. Please take time to give your thoughts on the discussion/talk page. That will go a long way to resolve any disagreements. Regards. --Aude (talk) 04:18, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 200 Greenwich Street

Hello Jbloun1. I noticed that you have recently added the updated rendering Image:Tower22.jpg to the 200 Greenwich Street article, which is great. However, your original placement of {{PD-self}} was a clear copyright violation per WP:VIO, as the work is a copyrighted image and not your own work. I just wanted to let you know this, as hopefully in the future you will be able to contribute to Wikipedia further by uploading other images. The image is now acceptably tagged by your own doing, so there are no more outstanding issues; I just wanted to let you know in the case of your future uploading of non-free images. Thanks and cheers, Rai-me 02:51, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Actually, after more scrutiny, I did find an issue. You need to properly identify the website from which you found the image, and the author (usually architect and developer; only developer is currently listed). Without either of these, the image is fair game for speedy deletion. I won't tag it for deletion right away, to give you time to update/fix the description page. Cheers, Rai-me 03:36, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New_York_City_Architecture.jpg

Hello Jbloun1. This is a beautiful shot of the Chrysler Building. I was wondering where you took this photo from...is it publicly accessible location? Thanks --Mimopes 00:59, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyrights...

I noticed that four of the images you uploaded are copyright violations. They were all tagged with {{PD-self}}, which is obviously not the case. I also noticed that the EXIF tags on many of the images you uploaded cite many different cameras and image editing software in use. Are all of your images taken from websites? Thanks. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 14:36, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright violations

I noticed that you have uploaded several images that are not your own, tagging them as if you owned the copyright. I have nominated all these images for deletion at WP:PUI. On Wikipedia, we take copyright very seriously. If you upload any more images that are not your own, claiming that that they are yours, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. – Quadell (talk) (random) 19:57, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
