Jarvis Green (born January 12, 1979 in Thibodaux, Louisiana) is an American football defensive end for the New England Patriots of the National Football League.
Green grew up in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. He was a standout at Donaldsonville High School.
Green played college football at Louisiana State University, where he ranks fourth on the school’s all-time sack list with 20 sacks for negative 123 yards. Over his career, he started 39 out of 41 games for the Tigers and recorded 184 tackles, 108 of them solo. Green was picked in the fourth round (126th overall) by the New England Patriots in the 2002 NFL Draft.
Green has been a solid defensive end over his career with the Patriots, often relieving teammates Richard Seymour and Ty Warren. Early in the 2007 season, Green filled in for Seymour as the Patriots' starting defensive end while Seymour was nursing a knee injury. In Week 1 versus the New York Jets, Green had two sacks; in Week 3, Green had a sack and a fumble recovery against the Buffalo Bills.
Green is also helping to provide for former LSU and Patriots teammate Marquise Hill's son, Ma’Shy, after Hill was killed in a jet ski accident on May 28, 2007.
