Iwan Griffiths is the drummer for the band. He, along with James and Rob, was a part of the original band "White Rabbit". He is 21 years old, and, like the other members of the band, originates from Cowbridge, Wales.
It was Iwan who came up with The Automatic's name.[1]
Iwan bears remarkable resemblance to Bloc Party drummer Matt Tong and has been compared to him many times.[2]
His nick-name is Wange, coming from his days in sixth form and various pub crawl activities, it's an amalgamation of the end of his first name and beginning of his surname.
