[edit] History
Iaşi Airport is one of the oldest acredited airports in Romania. The Iaşi region earned its commercial representative status in 1926, when scheduled flights were officialized on the route Bucharest – Galaţi – Iaşi and Chişinău. In 1969 Iaşi Airport was modernized, a concrete runway was built with a total length of 1800 m, with a modern lighting system and a passenger terminal. A new passenger terminal capable of processing 150 pax/hour for domestic flights and 100 pax/hour for international flights using separate flows was opened in 2001, making it one of the most modern and functional regional airports in Romania.
