Hsichih City is a city in Taipei County, Taiwan. "Hsichih" literally means "the end of tides" is because the tide from the Keelung River stops here and goes back to the sea. It is located in the Keelung River Valley between Taipei City and Keelung City, through which the old Jukando Highway and Jukan Railway Line passed during the Japanese occupation; nowadays both north-south freeways (National Highway No. 1 and National Highway No. 3) pass by Hsichih as well as the Western Line railroad.
Its population grew up quickly in the 1980s and 1990s and has become an important suburban city. Hsichih suffered serious flooding several times before the embankment along the Keelung River was constructed in 2002.
Hsichih is home to many companies, such as Acer, Coiler, Garmin and DFI.
