[edit] Critical reception
Goddamnit was received well by the critics. Reviewers' claimed the catchy guitar hooks by Skiba, mixed with the dark, alcohol-drenched lyrics made the album stand out at the time, and still bear relevance to young people today.citation needed

[edit] Reissue
On May 25, 2007, Alkaline Trio announced in a MySpace blog that they will be re-releasing the Goddamnit album by the end of the year, in commemoration of their tenth anniversary. They are doing this with the utmost respect to the existing album. No major changes, just minor tweaks to correct some of the limitations they had at that point. The four songs from the 1996 demo will be remastered and added as bonus tracks.
It will be packaged with a DVD including a ninety minute documentary about the origins of the band, interviews with past and current band members (including the producer of Goddamnit, Matt Allison), and some live footage from 1998 and the recent Occult Roots tour. Total run-time is estimated around two and a half hours.
[edit] Reissue Vinyl
In addition to the CD/DVD, the reissue was also released on eight different colors of limited edition, colored vinyl. Asian Man Records released: Sky Blue; White; Clear with Red Splatter; Half Red, Half Black; Half Green, Half Yellow with white splatter; Transparent Red;
Red with Black Splatter (Blood Pact Members Exclusive).
A sixth variation was released exclusively through Vinyl Collective. It was called Red with Black smoke, but looks like half purple, half yellow with splatter.
Each color was limited to a pressing of 500. The red with black splatter was available to Blood-Pact members only. Further, although the audio contained on the vinyl edition is that remixed and released on the CD/DVD edition, the records do not contain the four bonus tracks of the 1996 demo tape.
Two additional colors, transparent red and half yellow half green with white splatter were released exclusively through Vinyl Collective. The colors were announced only on Vinyl Collective, however, when a user looked to order the vinyl from Asian Man Records, they were directed to check Vinyl Collective for additional copies.
