- No problem. I suppose I should have waited for an invitation... but I didn't know you had to. I'll do better next time.
- Not at all, you do just fine! No invitation is necessary, I just like to make people feel welcome, if there is an interest. Thank you so much for joining, your knowledge is most welcome here! Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 23:01, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Regarding your edits on the Creationism-Evolution Controversy page
Please remember that Wikipedia talk pages are not chat rooms or message boards. They exist to better the articles. Comments such as this and this do not help the article's growth. Thank you. Baegis (talk) 02:53, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Certainly! I got a little carried away, but it won't happen again. Thanks for reminding me. ---G.T.N. (talk) 14:25, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Personal Notes
Don't forget: == Hen Ogledd Wikiproject ==
- Description
- This Project would be devoted to the Hen Ogledd, or Old North of Britain, in Southern Scotland and Northern England. There is a wealth of information on this subject, but the articles are decidedly lacking, and many could be created. It might be related to Wikipedia WikiProject: King Arthur and Wikipedia:WikiProject Celts. Or could create a Wkiproject Sub-Roman Britain instead, and have this as a sub-section.

[edit] Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. [edit] Opposes
I am trying to start a new Wikiproject and found that you opposed it and recommend it be a task force in a different project. I also noticed that you do this consistently. Do you have a reason for doing so, such as wanting there to be fewer Wikiprojects? It might be good to explain this on the talk page or something, as I noticed others who observed that pattern responding angrily. Just asking. ---G.T.N. (talk) 21:10, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- The short answer to your question is yes. I believe that most of the projects proposed are better fits as Task Forces in projects that already exist. You will note that many of the current WikiProjects are poorly managed because they have very small numbers. Creating task forces would help improve the project's numbers and content as a whole. -- Absolon S. Kent (talk) 23:49, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- I basically agree, but as part of a larger project individual taskforces might be payed less attention and therefore defeat the purpose. There does need to be a certain degree of specificity on the projects, as "History" is very broad when reffering to a few short centuries and only about half-a-dozen groups of people about whom there is much information but little to be found here. To a degree though, I do agree with your position. I think that if you loosened up on the idea a bit, allowing the small projects to become taskforces but not making a few dozen monolithic ones, you might actually be able to propose this as some sort of policy. I might support it.---G.T.N. (talk) 00:09, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, let me revise that. I've looked more into the taskforces and think I agree with you on many points. Now my only issue is my individual project. I think it ought to be a taskforce in a different wikiporject... but which one, I have no idea. Thanks for pointing this out to me. ---G.T.N. (talk) 00:15, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Arthur's Family
Hi, I didn't delete the son but moved him to the end of the list of Welsh sons of Arthur, as he is only referenced in a possibly 15th century englyn, whereas the others are all referenced in securely pre-Geoffrey of Monmouth texts. As to the reference, I altered it for two reasons. The first is that the article already refers to the son (Duran) a little later in the same section and gives the full quotation from the englyn, so I was merely harmonizing the two references. The second is that Rowland's edition and translation of the englynion poetry is a far more reputable source than the website and as we're trying for hard-to-achieve FA status for the article it seemed appropriate to update it. :) On the website in question itself, I too find it very useful but would urge caution -- its texts are (generally) reliable but the translations often are not, particularly when 19th century translations are used. In this case, as it is based on Rowland, it is ok, but there are some horrible manglings of early Welsh verse on the site... For my part, unless the author is obviously an academic with a known reputation, or it is a peer-reviewed e-journal (like The Heroic Age) I avoid referencing web-sites, as so much on them is often misleading, or wrong :-/ All the best, Hrothgar cyning (talk) 16:39, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Your question.
Hi i didnt realy get your question that u put on my talk page. Save The HumansTalk :) 01:05, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- I was reading your page and saw you were an atheist. I like to ask philosophical questions, and I have never got to ask an atheist this one: "As an atheist, where do you think ethics comes from?" Is it just a social construct, a byproduct of evolution, a true reality, or simple preference? What's your take on that?---G.T.N. (talk) 01:12, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- I love the question. LOL. wel its just dought i just cant comphend how some all powerful god can say your evel your not ehrn theres a former nazi being the pope where hes forgiven and some one you is gay should be sent go to hell for eneternity. And Quruern is way to strict. Hidusism worships a cow. Budism is wel the opsite of christanity where there too nice. Sorry i kinda got carried away you should ask this question on Wikipedia:WikiProject_Atheism. Save The HumansTalk :) 01:32, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Please consider taking the AGF Challenge
I would like to invite you to consider taking part in the AGF Challenge which has been proposed for use in the RfA process [1] by User: Kim Bruning. You can answer in multiple choice format, or using essay answers, or anonymously. You can of course skip any parts of the Challenge you find objectionable or inadvisable.--Filll (talk) 02:44, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] re:Philosophy
Thanks for advice. Yeah, that guy's got me pinned down wrong. But unless he replies, I'm just gonna leave him alone. BTW, thanks for praying for me, I need all I can get lol. RC-0722 247.5/1 15:42, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- Oh no. This if FAR from over. You know what they said? "And this sort of ignorance for someone supposedly here to write an encyclopedia is shameful." and "I find it hard to fight the mental image of a sockpuppeteer who sits chuckling in a corner somewhere while you look up the life dates of Hammurabi and Moses." and "you might want to study up a bit on what you missed in high school." and "He and his comrades have appeared here on Wikipedia articles, bent on ignoring the principles that Wikipedia operates under to push their agenda" Then let's not forget my personal favorite, "But when you start trying to force others to join you in your ignorance, then there is a problem." I've even started a blog for the sole purpose of debating ID vs. evolution. Trust me, this is not over. BTw, it might be a good idea to e-mail me, as I am on a wikibreak trying to decide if I will let these comments push me to retirement. RC-0722 247.5/1 00:54, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to WikiProject Barbarians!
Hi Gladius Terrae Novae!
- Welcome to Wikipedia:WikiProject Barbarins|WikiProject Barbarians]]. I am glad you were satisfied by the page and decided to join! I am fairly new to Wikipedia, and there are a few things I don't know how to do. Can you help?
- Create a WikiProject Barbarians userbox
- Create an assesment template (Or whatever that box is that can asess arcticles at talk pages!)
- Help expand the stubs. Erp is of the upmost importance to expand now.
- Send me any information that you have on the Gothic War of 402-403, as I am researching that deeply now, so I can create it within a couple of weeks.
Thanks again for joining and Welcome!--Pecopteris (talk) 12:11, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi,
- Are you referring to my category or WikiProject? The category is going to be deleted, but the WikiProject is stable (I think).
- I will research a userbox, but I have no idea on assesment tags.
- I found nothing in my own library on the Gothic War of 402-403, so I will be heading to my local library. Do you have anyplace you could go to research? This is all I know for sure:
-- Alaric I led the Visigoths into Italy against the Western Roman Empire in 402. He was pushed back in several battles, and quickly left Italy. I know nothing more at the moment, but I will be doing some more research.--Pecopteris (talk) 17:36, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi!
- How do you like the new design? I moved the list of arcticles to here, and I added arcticles that need attention to the main page.--Pecopteris (talk) 15:54, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Barbarian Userbox
Hi Gladius Terrae Novae,
- I have created our userbox. To but it on your page, simply use the template "User Barbarian". Tell me what you think!--Pecopteris (talk) 16:18, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Portal
Hi!
- Could you help with this? It is a horrible mess thanks to me, and I hope someone can straighten it out. Thanks!
- By the way, do you like my new design for the project? The list of arcticles has been moved, and arcticles needing attention are at the main page.--Pecopteris (talk) 15:45, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Intelligent Design vs. Evolution.
Hi Gladius
- I noticed you have a userbox that says you belive in Intelligent Design/Creationism. What makes you belive this? Being an Evolutionary scientist myself, I am just curious. I am always looking for a friendly debate, as it greatly helps me with my studies of Intelligent Design and its scientific evidence. If you are offended by this, simply say so. If not, then I would like to have a debate.--Pecopteris (talk) 13:20, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Friendly! Hallelujah! The last debate I had wasn't so friendly (and I got a barnstar for it- imagine that, barnstars for arguing!) I'd love to debate with you on that topic, but first let me just say that one of the people on my side of the debate created a blog for this vary purpose, and if you like we could do it there where there's a bit more room to comment and people to join in. The link's just a few sections above. Oh, and just to warn you, I can get to sound a bit heated, but that's just how I talk/write on issues, I don't really intend on sounding that way. So if you'd like to, by all means, lets do! ---G.T.N. (talk) 20:23, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I will go there and we can debate there.--Pecopteris (talk) 11:34, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Proposed deletion of Hauser's Law
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Hauser's Law, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? FrankTobia (talk) 20:04, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Note: I tried to get it speedy-deleted under G7, but per this discussion it looks like prod will have to do. The article will be gone in 5 days. If you want to re-create it in your user space I'd be more than happy to work with you on it. -FrankTobia (talk) 20:08, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
