Fred A. Toomer Elementary School is an elementary school in the Atlanta, Georgia neighborhood of Kirkwood.
The school is part of the Atlanta Public Schools district.

The school was dedicated on April 21, 1968, in the memory of Fred Armon Toomer (1889-1961), Third Vice-President and member of the Board of Directors of Atlanta Life Insurance Company.[1]
[edit] Comprehensive School Reform
All Atlanta Public Schools have selected from among twelve Comprehensive School Reform models. Toomer Elementary has chosen the Core Knowledge and Direct Instruction models.[2]

NBA player Anthony Carter attended Toomer, where his fifth-grade class was adopted by the "I Have a Dream" Foundation. In 2003, Carter was appointed as the first-ever spokesperson for the foundation.[3]

Toomer-zoned residents are also zoned to Coan Middle School.
Some Toomer-zoned residents are zoned to Henry W. Grady High School, and some are zoned to Southside High School.
