[edit] Welcome!

Hello, Fisherjs, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! --Tone 13:12, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Linking to categories

Hiya! I made a small edit to your userpage and feel that as it's a little unusual to do this, you should be told why some complete stranger edited your userpage:

When you hardlink to a category (such as: [[Category:Wikipedia maintenance]] your page gets included into that category. You need to soft-link to it like this: [[:Category:Wikipedia maintenance]]. The colon keeps your page from being auto-included into the category. It's also useful for linking to images (example: image:WikiThanks.png, which shows a link instead of the image file itself).

Anywho, have a nice day, and thanks for helping out with Wikipedia! :D

[edit] Gary Lucas

hey there, your edit on the Gary Lucas page ended up cutting out most of the text. I've reverted your edit; were you using an automated tool or something? --duncan 07:05, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

I wasn't using a bot, but my brain was obviously on bot mode not to notice that the article had somehow been truncated to this. Sorry about that; I don't know how that happened.--Fisherjs 13:49, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject: Albums

Thanks for the heads-up about Wikiproject Albums. I had a question, though, which I asked here and on my talk page (see sig).  — AnnaKucsma   (Talk to me!) 20:18, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

And you'll see my reply on your Talk page. I see you've already asked your question on the Project page. I'll be interested in the reply.

[edit] Thanks for the edit and advice

Hey there, thanks a lot for the edits, advice and message. It´s really helpful, as I am still kinda new at all this, and so I appreciate that you fixed some of the stuff I didn´t get right. Thanks!Danstew 14:05, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Francisco Aguabella

Thank you for starting the article! Be warned, howevr, that fair use albem covers are only considered fair use to illustrate the album in question, and have been removed from articles about performers in the past. But thanks again for your contributions, --Rockero 07:13, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, but you might want to let User:James Janderson know about that since he is the person that added the image to the performer's page. I uploaded it, but only added it to the album article.--Fisherjs 17:29, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Summerbreeze

Thanks for the help, I'm trying to do a whole Tiesto discography (i've been adding all these albums, making a template, and just working my butt off. So thanks for the help DJREJECTED 08:58, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

You're welcome. And if I wasn't feeling so lazy at the time, I would have standardized a few other things such as putting track names in quotes, offsetting the times with an ndash, and removing the <small> tag from the times. How about if I leave that to you? As I put in my edit summary, you can visit Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums for more on the project to help with your template before you create lots of new pages.--Fisherjs 11:17, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Ha...thanks. Yeah I've joined the project and am helping to standardize those Tiesto pages. Thanks again. --DJREJECTED 11:22, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cheers

Thanks for the help in standardising the Whipping Boy album page; I've since joined up with the albums project (as I'm a firm advocate of the art of albums - I don't think a song on its own is anything in comparison to a song which is a part of a well-crafted album), and at least I know the proper format now. Back I go to all the album pages I've created in the last two days!

I see Ireland is listed in your top 5 places to visit... If you do decide to come and need any travel advice, just drop me a line!

Thanks again

[edit] Adopting dab pages: format question

Hi Fisherjs, I replied to your formatting question (in your edit summary) about the tables on the "adopting dab pages" subproject. I put the reply on the talk page. Your input is definitely valued... --Ling.Nut 17:12, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Letting Go

Ah! Oops. Stupid. It was because there was already an article called Letting Go. Are you sure moving isn't necessary? I wouldn't mind doing it and I'd be glad to learn how it works. Thanks, --Leo44 (talk) 09:30, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I wouldn't worry about moving it (it's not an uncommon error and besides there are bigger "problems" out there to fix). If you want other opinions, post something to the WikiProject Albums talk page.--Fisherjs 09:36, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
OK, thank you. --Leo44 (talk) 09:48, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Background=>Type

A good idea in principle, but one of the reasons the background field is going is that it was inconsistently used, so we could end up giving albums the wrong type. It would also be tricky to resolve clashes between type and background. Thanks from the note. Rich Farmbrough, 16:06 8 October 2006 (GMT).

[edit] Cleanup of The Rule

I noticed you rmv'ed the space between the header and content on The Rule and labeled the change as "cleanup." Is there a place in the WP formatting policy that suggests spaces like that should be rmv'ed? if so, please point me to it. Thanks for your help. --Anthony5429 00:32, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

I did some searching around and found this. So it looks like the spacing issue is completely optional. Happy WP'ing! --03:34, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Actually, my edit was to make the "a" in "album" lowercase so that the link worked, but in the process I removed that space as well. I could have been more clear with the edit summary (usually I put "red link fix" but didn't for that edit for some reason).--Fisherjs 11:59, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Marrob

Hello Fisherjs If you wanna add something on the pages that I'm criated, please don't change the configuration that I'm do it!! and don't take off my credits!!! ok?!!! Bye—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Marrob (talkcontribs) 22:36, 30 October 2006 (UTC).

I think you are misunderstanding what a wiki is about. As User:Nufy8 said, you don't "own" the pages you create and you should adhere to the standards of a project. Also, you have a funny habit of signing articles and not talk pages. It should be the other way around.--Fisherjs 08:02, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Work lists of uncatted albums

Kudos for tackling these; I'm giving the populating-by-bot matter further thought. Feel free to just delete sections you've completed, if you find that easier than striking out articles, as I imagine might be the case. Alai 01:35, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Benzino Album: Redemption

Im having difficulty understanding why you would cat this article. Perhaps you should read the main Benzino article to assert notibility of the subject source? In the meantime, Ill remove the cat tag and put its insertion down to an error. regards 203.57.241.67 04:59, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Encise

As you can see, I added a category, because it didn't have one yet. I think you misunderstood my edit and may have confused it with the notability template that User:Y control added.--Fisherjs 07:43, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox work

Hi, hopefully I will have the Category:Album stubs wonderful-joy-of-a-job task done by tomorrow so will be able to join you with the infobox-adding task thereafter. Do you have a method, or is it just A – Z? Bubba hotep 22:10, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Actually, I can see from your contribs that you follow the A-Z method, so what say I start Z-A and meet you in the middle some day?! ;) Bubba hotep 22:12, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm going pretty much A-Z, but when I find an artist that has many albums w/o boxes, then I often take care of all of them at once (see Luciano). Do whatever makes you happy, though.--Fisherjs 11:09, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Finished. Will take a couple of minutes to screw my eyes back in and will get on it! Bubba hotep 11:22, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] vicious white kids

hello,

about "vicious white kids album", do you know where i can find theses demo tracks ?

[edit] Barnstar

The Working Man's Barnstar
For adding hundreds of album infoboxes and standardizing countless album articles, I hereby award you this Working Man's Barnstar. Jogers (talk) 12:01, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
¡Que bonita! Muchas gracias.--Fisherjs 15:28, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Yes, well done to you, too! But I haven't got any cats to purge now. What to do? :) Bubba hotep 15:29, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
What are you talking about, yo!? There are over 3800 pages in this cat. Get back to work. :) --Fisherjs 16:04, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh yes, I "didn't notice them" :P Bubba hotep 16:08, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Actually, it's probably slightly more than 3800 now... I haven't updated that category in the summary for three days... /taskset /tasklogged /taskexecuting... maybe in a few hours time! Bubba hotep 16:21, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

You are most welcome. Keep up the good work. Jogers (talk) 19:25, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What in the hell?

You're a bastard. That's right! A dirty, rotten bastard. Editing my Naty Botero article at the same time I am and not even bothering to be on IM at the same time! I was in a haze as I just got LASIK, but not from Navarro Naranjo...he ended up lying to me several times. Anyway, hope all is well. Chat soon? We'll be back in the states sometime this summer. Hwonder talk contribs 02:57, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Good Sir, you ought to check yourself before you wreck yourself (it's only a matter of time, let's be honest, before that link works). Congrats on your LASIK; might want to give your eyes a wikibreak-ito. Yes, hope to catch up with you soon.--Fisherjs 14:32, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ewemg.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Ewemg.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. This is an automated message from BJBot 13:34, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

I had the syntax of the infobox wrong. It's fixed now.--Fisherjs 13:56, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Simpsons Movie (the soundtrack)

Please don't add anything to this article. It is a hoax by a mass vandal. --AAA! (AAAA) 23:22, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Album template

Hi Fisherjs, I saw the WikiProject Albums template you added to Talk:Live At The Rotterdam Ahoy. I went ahead and added the same template to Talk:The Soundboard Series but I'm wondering, is that the right template to use? Is there a different template for box sets? Robotman1974 21:19, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

That's the right template. One template for all types so that the article ends up in Category:WikiProject Albums articles.--Fisherjs 21:22, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. Robotman1974 21:25, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:B000GY727Y.01. SS500 SCLZZZZZZZ V62780383 .jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:B000GY727Y.01. SS500 SCLZZZZZZZ V62780383 .jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:06, 19 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fang Aili talk 17:06, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Emerson Drive

Just to let you know, I've altered your categorization of the Emerson Drive albums a bit. Our actual standard format is to create Category:Emerson Drive albums, and then file that in the genre category, rather than creating a simple band category and filing the individual albums separately in that and the genre category. Also, we don't capitalize names of musical genres; the correct spelling is Category:Canadian country albums, not "Canadian Country albums". Bearcat 23:26, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fabric 34

Thanks for fixing up my mistakes on this article, is there anyway I can edit the album template and stuff above the section without making a duplicate now that I've finished it? Sorry, I'm new at this. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bombyourselves (talkcontribs) 18:03, 18 March 2007 (UTC).

If I understand your question, then I think the answer is simply to click the "edit this page" tab on top of the article (or simply here). Or you can click the [edit] link for section 1 and then just change the 1 to a 0 in the URL (that's the fancy and slick way to edit section "0"). Hope that answers your question. Be sure to check out WP:ALBUM if you are interested in album articles in general. Cheers! --Fisherjs 18:14, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks a lot, I realized at the last minute how silly my question up but thanks again anyways. Bombyourselves 02:20, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Help needed

I just ran across this article (because I chip in categorizing articles) and it just read strange. After a look through the history, it seems that the content was added by just one user: User:Aaronl13 and a look through the user's contribs shows that they joined WP pretty much just to post that article. The only other mainspace edit they had was to link the article at Deforestation, which has since been removed, but I don't know why or when (that history is simply too long to go through). So, does this article need a NPOV tag or PROD or something else entirely, or is it fine and just underdeveloped? I don't know enough to judge its accuracy or even Truthiness. Thanks! --Fisherjs 21:07, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Looks like a dose of original research at first glance. I would AfD it to be safe. I don't mind doing it, if you don't! :) Bubba hotep 21:12, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
(now that I'm halfway through the AfD process) ...Even if it has all those citations? --Fisherjs 21:30, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Those citations could just be there as references to where all the research behind the original research came from. You know, kinda the influence behind it all. It does look very essay/study paper-like. A wider audience will expose it. NB: It's also on the editor's user page as well which is another clue as to its origin, maybe. Bubba hotep 21:33, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your input. I hope I did all that AfD stuff properly. It was my first time! --Fisherjs 21:41, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
You did it just fine. It is a painful process what with three steps to do, but I have a javascript that does it all at the press of a button! Still don't use it that often though. :) Bubba hotep 21:46, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
It was deleted, by the way. Good spot. Bubba hotep 19:05, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Album stubs

So... a funny thing. I re-categorized the {{album-stub}} template as a music-stub instead of an album-stub so it didn't show up in Category:Album stubs. It was very quiet for a while... then I kept coming across album articles with {{album-stub}} on them but not showing up in the album stub category. So... I guess it has to be in that category so that any article ends up in that category too! Once the servers had caught up, 48 of the blighters turned up! But it looks like someone else sorted them anyway. Phew! Just catching up with infoboxes now. Hope you are having a good wikibreak. :) Bubba hotep 19:02, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Hrm...strange and interesting.--Fisherjs 20:30, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Archives

To be honest, I don't know why that page is there. It doesn't really have anything useful on it! And it just gets in the way when I clear a section! Bubba hotep 12:55, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Not sure either, but I figured someone else might have reason. Might be valuable once we're not so on top of this bot's output.--Fisherjs 12:59, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Album tagging

I will do another pass soon. I don't do this on continual basis because making lists for the bot to work on is a bit time consuming. I'm afraid that I won't be able to run the bot a little bit each day as you suggested for this reason. Perhaps I'll try to run it more often though. Does it really hurt if an article isn't tagged straight away? The bot will tag every properly categorized article eventually so I think that there should be no need to manually place the tags as long as I'm around. Jogers (talk) 19:22, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] You need to see this.

It's terrible that I have to put this here rather than emailing you, just because I know you'll see this sooner. Ha. By the way, I hear it's a varoncito! awesome Firefox extension. Hwonder talk contribs 20:08, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

I remember you once said that you would be interested in working on the list of articles which titles are incorrectly capitalized. I didn't have an idea how to generate such list then but you gave me the inspiration so here it is :-) Regards, Jogers (talk) 11:39, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Nomination: When Corporations Rule the World

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem to me that When Corporations Rule the World meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/When Corporations Rule the World. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, an administrator will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. --Gavin Collins 08:26, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, to address my own concerns about this piece being advertising, I've added quite a bit to it, with critical praise and criticism in equal amounts. As your original piece made much of Korten's belief that Adam Smith's works had been misused, some quotes by Smith himself are given. Feel free to add whatever you like to counter any mistakes I may have made. Nick mallory 10:49, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your work on the article (and changing your opinion to "keep"). Looks like lots of good references you dug up. --Fisherjs 11:59, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Refining the scope

Yo! i actually hadn't noticed yr query before, so ta for alerting me. Unfortunately i don't speak that strange, slash-ridden language either, so can't help out on that front.

As i've been filtering the list in recent days i've also tended to speedy (or at least AfD) spamming/non-notable bands and labels as well as prodding (or redirect) n.n. songs and albums, so i quite appreciate the bot listing things like that for this reason; however, i appreciate that this isn't really the bot's main purpose, so i'd have no real objection if the search criteria were refined to leave such stuff out. Best, tomasz. 12:36, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Album cover fur template

If you're using the "Album cover fur" template, please specify "Use = Infobox" if it's for an album cover used in the Infobox of an article. Some people want to kill the template completely. If you specify "Infobox", it produces a much better rationale, one we can much better argue the template is useful.

It's also a good thing to put in at least the name of the band, the name of the record company, and "type=album".

This template has to be used appropriately, or there is a real chance it will be banned. Jheald 18:09, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Panda Band

As a contibutor to the above article would appreciate your feedback as to whether the articles on The Panda Band's album This Vital Chapter should be deleted - your feedback is important as to whether the item is retained or deleted. Dan arndt 09:56, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Not For Kids Only

I respectfully, disagree with your changing the article title. I understand the album guidline that you put in your explanation, but I think that if you were to look at how the title on the album is written you would understand why I put it the way that I did. At the very least you could have opened the title of the article up for discussion. Moorematthews 18:46, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Sorry that I didn't open it up for any discussion; I am just working my way through this list. But still, we don't follow the capitalization on the album cover itself (so many albums would be in all caps). For example, see The Return of the Space Cowboy where the capitalization of "of" and "the" differ from the album cover (evidently "cowboy" too). If you want to raise the issue at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums to see what others think, be my guest. Thanks for the note. --Fisherjs 20:43, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Beatles Capitol Albums Vol.3

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article The Beatles Capitol Albums Vol.3, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Alvestrand 14:41, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List 5 User talk:Jogers/List5

As you've assisted Jogers with this list, I'm looking for a bit of assistance.- There's a group of titles of which I was uncertain on the correct caps at the bottom of the talk page. The last bot was almost entirely this list. Would you take a look at them and see what you think - either retitle or move. Thanks. SkierRMH 19:01, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

I've been avoiding the issue because I don't know what rules, if any, to apply to these titles. Maybe best to ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums?--Fisherjs 18:19, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Redirect of In Concert(album)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on In Concert(album), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because In Concert(album) is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting In Concert(album), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a nonexistent page. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. [edit] adding the album tag

  • ok, thanks for your advice. i was just adding them incidentally while processing the AlexNewArtBot lists, but if the bot does it there's no point in me doing it. i may still add some to hip-hop albums if i'm also adding the WP:HH tag, cuz we don't have a nifty bot that adds the tag at that project. best, tomasz. 09:57, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:191B28FE07CA45FBB74E3D5AE282F428.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:191B28FE07CA45FBB74E3D5AE282F428.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:46, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Album cats

Thanks for the note. Category:Album articles with infobox field language is a temporary category and should be removed. (Thanks for the reminder.) As for Category:Album articles without cover art, at the last CfD for that category the argument was made that the category is for all album articles without cover art, not all of which are necessarily missing cover art. That's why the category is named "...without cover art" as opposed to "...missing cover art". (In Rainbows for example isn't missing cover art, it intentionally doesn't have any, because the cover art hasn't been released yet.) That said, most album articles in Category:Album articles without cover art are missing cover art, so perhaps it should be moved to Category:Album articles needing attention. In either case, a note could be added to the category page explaining this. --PEJL 16:20, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Translating pages from other wikipedias

Hi there, you were very helpful to me some time ago when I started out here. I have a question. Some singers who are mostly famous in Italy or France have pretty poor pages on the English wikipedia, and most are obviously written by someone who doesn't master the language or any rules of the site. Are there any rules regarding blatantly taking a page from say the Italian wiki and translating it for another wiki? Dollvalley (talk) 01:18, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

It's fine to translate pages from other wikis. If it's a copy (and no translation has been done), you can tag it with {{notenglish}}. See Wikipedia:Translation and WP:PNT for more.--Fisherjs (talk) 20:51, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Embodiment: Collapsing Under The Weight Of God vs. Embodiment: Collapsing Under the Weight of God

Fisherjs, I see you around editing music pages a lot, so that's one reason why I wanted to talk to you about this. Today, I made the wikipedia page for Embodiment: Collapsing Under the Weight of God. A few seconds after, I found out that some other person created a page with an almost similar name, talking about the same subject (Embodiment: Collapsing Under The Weight Of God). Before I made the page with the lowercased article words (the, of), I didn't know a page about this album alread existed. So, I'm asking you, which page should be kept? The original page or my page? --BTC 02:28, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

The correct title is Embodiment: Collapsing Under the Weight of God because of Wikipedia:ALBUM#Capitalization. Regards, --Fisherjs (talk) 18:17, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for that. But which page do you think should be kept, though? The page with more information, or the page that was created first? BTC 22:20, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Embodiment: Collapsing Under the Weight of God should be kept. I'll make the other redirect to it. --Fisherjs (talk) 18:42, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for helping me with that dilemma. I didn't really know what to with those two pages, and you did. Thanks again. BTC 22:02, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cheers for the Category Update

I noticed you popped the categories into the Ben E. King album details. I had overlooked that, thanks for the add-in. I have a large music collection that I am currently going through and I'm using information on Wikipedia (which I trust more than big-name sites these days), but I am also adding any info that I find missing after checking as many sources as possible. Feel free to see what else I add on here and assist as needed. =)

As for the infoboxes, do you know how to get them standard? I noticed the automatic category about non-standard infoboxes and was curious, as I borrowed it from another article to edit.

I will also look into the redirect things you mentioned in the prior article; I always capitalize every word myself, but I know there is also a convention. I just prefer capitals and noticed I have to set redirects in some cases, especially if I mistype it in another article somewhere.

BTW, what does "unref" mean as a tag? —Preceding unsigned comment added by CycloneGU (talkcontribs) 02:12, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Cheers!

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Tpglogosmall.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Tpglogosmall.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:22, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
