Etawah district is a district in the southwestern portion of Uttar Pradesh state of India. Etawah town is the district headquarters. Etawah district is part of Kanpur Division.

etawah is a district by itself though it may come under the kanpur division. The city has a mix Hindu and Muslim population. The colorfull culture of this old city is worth commending as though it is backward as far as the progress and growth is concerned but the spirit of this city has never gone. the temples like the KALKA JI(LAKHNA), KALI BADI , KALI WAHAN and mosques like the JAMA MASJID(Chippaiti)have their heavy historic importance.
