[edit] History

The album was released in the United States only, by MGM Records, during the gap between the time that the original incarnation of The Animals broke up, and the new incarnation, billed as Eric Burdon & The Animals, was created.[3] Eric Is Here featured Burdon recording the works of various pop songwriters, accompanied by an orchestra;[3] it is possible that some members of the first incarnation Animals were present during the sessions.[3]

The track "Help Me Girl" became a minor hit single, reaching number 29 on the U.S. pop singles chart. In the United Kingdom, "Help Me Girl" was released as a non-album single (b/w "See See Rider", Decca F12502) and placed to number 14.
