[edit] Hey there
Wonderful work on Russia-military related articles. Here is a barnstar:

I was wondering to what of this rank? I added a similar image - but it is probably lost in Pandemonium about now. Molotov (talk)

[edit] Fictional Russian Military Ranks
The actions of User:Roitr have become outrageous. He won't stop adding fictional ranks and arbitrary suggestions to the above article, and he also created similar confusion in Army ranks and insignia of the Russian Federation, Air Force ranks and insignia of the Russian Federation and Naval ranks and insignia of the Russian Federation (and maybe somewhere else as well). He just doesn't seem to care about our comments, and even after I've reverted the contents several times, he continues his disbehaviour. What actions are to be taken now - mediation, arbitration etc.? Peace, --DmitryKo 19:54, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
- I'm feeling like starting a little revert war. Should be funny. --DmitryKo 02:36, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
- As per Wikipedia:Resolving disputes, I posted a request for a third opinion on Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts, so some other party may come and voice an opinion. Fell free to Request for comment as well if you wish! If Riotr remains unconviced then I'll ask to make it a Wikipedia:Protected page and then pass the issue over to Wikipedia:Mediation over. If all this fails, then Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration will be the the last measure. ;) --DmitryKo 17:38, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] User: Roitr
Thank you, for helping me combat his vandalism. I am currently warning him and I am also trying to collect all his sockpuppets in one place, and see to it that he be banned. Thanks. εγκυκλοπαίδεια* 20:07, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
Perfect for you, Military ranks of the Soviet Union : )
[edit] Military ranks
Encyclopedist, you forgut to add Chief Marshal of aviation to the table. Also there was no such rank o General of aviation, only Marshal of aviation, which was equal to General of the Army. And again there were no such ranks as Podpraporschik and Bootsman, Lyotchik translates from russian as pilot which can't be a rank of private. --DimaY2K 21:07, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- You are better at this than I am! Most of this was from Russian military ranks page, though. εγκυκλοπαίδεια* 21:23, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
I am really confused now, I tried to stay in the bounds :-)εγκυκλοπαίδεια* 21:31, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Russian lenguage
Hi, I noticed that you wrote to me about ten minutes ago about the translation service: well, I don't speak Russian so the help would be great. As an additional note, you should know that it is language not lenguage. εγκυκλοπαίδεια* 21:29, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, I am sort of confused - it seems Tt1 knew what he was talking about regarding some things. Я угадываю я должно выучить русского для того чтобы мочь связывать с вами. How much времени делает я потратить для того чтобы выучить русского? Я люблю вас! εγκυκλοπαίδεια* 19:25, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
See my message on User talk:Encyclopedist#Roitr aka Tt1! --DmitryKo 21:56, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, it looks like the message was lost... rewrote it again. --DmitryKo 23:00, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tt1
Are you talking about when I told him to take two dimes and call someone who gives a damn? Yeah, wasn't the best thing to say - and I am pretty sure that it is on the brink of the civility rules, but his attitude and misinterpretation of information is really really getting annoying. I am pretty sure anyone would get sick of a menace pretty quickly, so I did. Sorry about that, I hope you aren't upset with me for losing my temper. Maybe I should take 3 or 4 days off of Wikipedia, because his vandalism is just awful. I also want to extend my apologies to you for having to deal with him, apparently some people never learn. εγκυκλοπαίδεια* 20:56, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Roitr aka Tt1 and his new bots
Here's a (incomplete) list: Sergeybakh, Markdanil , 88.152.186.13 , 88.155.49.240 , 88.152.104.167, 88.154.8.154
And just look how he claims that I'm your sockpuppet ! Jesus Christ... --DmitryKo 20:50, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sockpuppet activity center
- I suggest reporting any suspicious activity to User:Roitr/sockpuppetry so new bots and IPs can be tracked and banned on sight. --DmitryKo 23:15, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hey Dima!
Greetings from Down Under. I think WP:MILHIST needs to have a discussion about comparisons between Russian Ground Forces and U.S. Army ranks, and then we should change the page so that both versions are mentioned.
Please help me try and understand what you think about this. Am I correct that you think the below is correct
- Russian Marshal of the RF = (?)
- Russian General of the Army = U.S. General of the Armies (plural) (George Washington's rank)
- Russian General Colonel = U.S. General (full four star)
- Russian General Lieutenant = U.S. Lieutenant General
- Russian General Major = U.S. Major General
- (?) = U.S. Brigadier General
- Russian Colonel = U.S. colonel
This is where I don't understand your explanation. What would a Marshal of the RF equal in U.S. terms? Or a U.S. Brig Gen.? However, if we move the Russian ranks 'down' one slot according to the table above, it all fits - and Scott and Scott, in the 'Armed Forces of the USSR', say this is correct.
I am not trying to abuse you, only to reach an understanding of what you believe is the correct comparison and why. I'll also copy this to the WP:MILHIST Rus & Sov TF wikipage. Cheers Buckshot06 18:52, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
