Dick Thompson Morgan

Dick Thompson Morgan (December 6, 1853 - July 4, 1920) was a U.S. Representative from Oklahoma.
Born at Prairie Creek, Indiana, Morgan attended the country schools and the Prairie Creek High School. He was graduated from Union Christian College, Merom, Indiana, in 1876, and later was professor of mathematics in that college. He was graduated from the Central Law School, Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1880. He was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Terre Haute, Indiana. He served as member of the State house of representatives in 1880 and 1881. He was appointed register of the United States land office at Woodward, Oklahoma, by President Roosevelt in 1904 and served until May 1, 1908.
Morgan was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-first and to the five succeeding Congresses and served from March 3, 1909, until his death in Danville, Illinois, July 4, 1920. He was interred in Rose Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
