David Keith Nelson (born April 7, 1962) -- From 1978 to 2001, I served as a professional marketer and writer in the United States. Since 1980, I served as a gay Democratic politician. In politics, I served as a party leader, a presidential campaigns leader and a delegate of the 1996 and 2000 Democratic National Conventions. In government, I served as a city-government council candidate, a county-government public-information officer, a state-government lobbyist and a federal-government hate-crime adviser. I wrote and lobbied successfully for the adoption of several public laws including two Utah hate-crime laws, a state viatical-settlements law and two Salt Lake County nondiscrimination laws. I founded or co-founded 16 state and national groups, and directed several more.

My interests (including wiki interests) include genealogy, history and politics. I live with disabilities in Salt Lake City.

According to the Lawrence Kestenbaum "Rule of 1/1000th Common Ancestry," I'm a member of the Cannon U.S. political family and several Salem Witch Trials families. I'm also a member of the Plantagenet royal family, and a descendant member of the Friends and Companions of the College of St. George.

I'm a 3GGS of the Cannon Family patriarch George Quayle CANNON (by his adoption of Rosina MATHEWS) and his sister Mary Alice CANNON, and a double-descent 4GGS of their parents George (Immigrant) CANNON and Ann QUAYLE. They were related to many other U.S. political families.
