David Jones (born August 10, 1984) is a professional ice hockey right winger currently playing for the Colorado Avalanche. Drafted in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft 288th overall, he played 3 years of collegiate hockey at Dartmouth College. In 2006–07, he was named Ivy League Player of the Year, also becoming a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award. He was in his first season in the AHL with the Lake Erie Monsters before being called up by the Avalanche on December 20th, 2007.[1]
Jones scored his first career NHL goal on March 11, 2008 in a 5–2 victory over the Atlanta Thrashers. He also tallied two assists and was named as the first star of the game.
