Daniel Cudmore (born January 20, 1981) is a Canadian actor perhaps best known for his role as the mutant Colossus in the X-Men movies.
He was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, to British parents Sue Bailey, who works for the British Columbia film commission,[1] and Richard Cudmore, a doctor. He was raised in Squamish, British Columbia. Cudmore is the middle of three boys, all over 6'5" tall. He stands 6'8" tall and wear US size 16 shoes.[citation needed]
Cudmore is a former forward for the Capilano Rugby Football Club in Vancouver.[1] His older brother Jamie is a member of the Canadian Rugby World Cup team.[2] His younger brother, Luke, also plays for Capilano RFC.[3]
Stephanie Meyer, Bestselling author of Twilight, mentioned Mr. Cudmore as an actor she could see portraying Emmett McCarty Cullen in the upcoming film by the same title.[4]
Daniel was also auditioned for the title role in Superman Returns.[5]
