Coldheart Canyon is a novel telling a "Hollywood ghost story" by Clive Barker, published in 2001.
The story centres around Todd Pickett, a failing movie star, and Tammy Lauper, Todd's obsessive fan. Other characters include Katya Lupi, Todd's newfound love, Maxine Frizelle, Todd's agent and William Zeffer, Katya's former manager.

The story begins in Romania during the 1920's where poverty and diseases dominate a certain territory. American Willem Zeffer and the Romanian-born famous actress he represents, Katya Lupi(Lupescu), travelled there in order to visit Katya's relatives. During this particular time Zeffer visits an old medieval castle which now has turned into a monastery and decides to buy a unique piece of art, a whole room made of sculptured and painted tiles describing in a grotesque manner the local legend of a curse that doomed the Count of the local area to hunt forever. The piece is bought and then moved to Los Angeles leaving a strange sense of sufferance and cursing in the place behind.
The second part of the story begins in the year around 2000 where 34 year old movie star Todd Pickett decides that time is running too fast for him and his glory days of vanity are leaving him far far away.That leads him to the decision of having a plastic surgery in his face in order to do the great comeback on the screen. Unfortunately things go wrong and he puts himself in a position where he has to hide until his recovery, away from the hungry eyes of Hollywood.
His agent selects Coldheart Canyon, an abandoned place inside Hollywood, ignoring the fact that it is a damned kingdom full of ghosts and curses, where Katya is the absolute queen, surviving due to the cursed magic of the artwork in the prologue.
