[edit] Birth info

Re your recent Nina Sky edit. According to Wikipedia:Manual of Style, birth details generally are Joe Soap (born 1 December 1930, London); NOT Joe Soap (born 1 December 1930, in London). Nothing to do with me, but that is how it is. Regards,

[edit] Can you undo your move?

Hi. I appreciate where you're coming from with wanting to have separate articles for the school and for the shooting. BUT we just wrapped up a painful series of Deletion discussions for the school, the shooting, the shootign victim and even the guy they named the school after. Can you undo your move and put it back the way it was? Just for the sake of the recently-achieved consensus?? Canuckle 01:56, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding Latin Canadians

Sorry if I changed your recently updated article. Haitians aren't Latino in the sense of Hispanic culture yet they're technically Latin Americans, as Latin American countries are countries in which a Latin-derived language is spoken (in Haiti's case, French and the French-derived Haitian Creole). Haitians make up a significant populace in Canada and so I thought they should've been included in the article. I apologize for the edit.

[edit] Kardinal Offishall

Fair use album covers cannot be used in an article about the artist, only in articles about the individual albums. There is no fair use rationale on the albums' image pages as to how they are useable in the artist's articles, and to put them there is a copyright violation. Corvus cornix 17:33, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your message

MySpace is not a credible source. Also, those sources for December 18 were published before a new source that said Wayne again decided to push back the release date, check the source. I just don't bother explaining myself anymore and I can't tell Wayne stans apart from good editors. No one bothers to check the source so I just say it's vandalism. Again, about the songs, MySpace isn't good, find something else, or maybe on Wayne's MySpace, but with all these leaked tracks I have no idea which ones are actually gonna be on the album and which aren't. --- Realest4Life 14:53, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] In Regards to Young Deuce Comment

DEDICATED TO User talk:Blackjays1 (section) Everyone knows that with the exception of Kardinal Offishal, and maybe Jellestone, JB, or Don Million, all other rappers around Toronto are underground. I promo Young Deuce to the fullest. Black Jays are a joke, and the entire city knows this. They have to keep a circle because they are fearful of the real talent in this city coming from places like the STREETS of Parma ct. and Jane and Finch. Toronto would be much better off, if we all helped each other rise in a movement like the south. Instead, Kardi and friends get booed everywhere, and little to no respect. Jully Black has never been back to Jane and Finch to do track with aspiriing artist. These individuals mind you, are 29 years plus and barely have careers going. Note that since they've never actually represented a actual hood, they aren't even considered O.G.'s. This is the unforgiving truth. And to top it all off, they have no respect in the streets. In Jane and Finch, everyone will tell you about Young Deuce, The Corps, George Reefah, The Smugglaz. BlackJays keep to themselves and never have been in the streets. Do your research on Young Deuce and Jane and Finch. The amount that Jane and Finch's Driftwood and Shoreham are in the News is ridicuous. When the last time you heard Blackjays have the balls to claim a block. Or been in the news on some charges. Nobody claims them. They are weak, have no street cred, and boring old men who try to relate to a world they no nothing of. The recieve funding because their good little people whose white friends like Snow sit on the board of VideoFact to help them get grants like, "Jeah. This video will be hot". And since there is NO real competition in the video cateogories, they win all the Juno's, Which they paid for through publicity managers. Give some real street niggaz a chance, and we'll see what happens. Talent. Blood or Crip, people will respect it. And as for those videos on youtube, it did its job...How? Now you know the name and it puts fear in you. Bothers you. Gets under your skin. Just like this note....LOL. These are mere facts. I feel sorry for you and your camp by now in reading this.LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL...

[edit] Please read the fair use guidelines

Before attempting to reintroduce the orphaned Fair Use image to the Russell Peters article, please read up on the requirements for a fair use rationale to be valid. It is almost never admissible to have fair use images of living people unless it is an image of historical importance. This is obviously not the case here. __meco (talk) 19:17, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Actually, regarding this, it wasn't your edit that I intended to revert. In fact, I didn't even know you had edited. When I made this edit, I had done it less than a minute after you made your edit. [edit] Jamaica Religion section

Hi, thanks for reverting that user - I'd used up my reverts for the day. My question is, tho, should we split up the section in Culture on Rastafari, and put the religion-related portion in that section? I know there are some (notably a recent editor) who don't consider Rastafarianism a religion, so we may be swapping one fight for another. Another solution would be to reorder some of the section in the article, including splitting off the Religion section from demographics to its own section, as it is in most national articles. Thanks. - BillCJ (talk) 03:46, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] indo jamaican?

I noticed there are no exact sources like most other ethnic pages. but from doing research and looking around a bit i found this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-resident_Indian_and_Person_of_Indian_Origin that stated we had 62,000 of them living in the country. also the indo jamaican myspace http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=groups.groupProfile&groupID=105388177&MyToken=33cc8554-8f46-4555-8e42-2f58ad12d3d6 stated (Indo jamaican) a Jamaican of East Indian origin, descendant of the indentured immigrants that the British took from India in the 1830s for labour on the plantations around Jamaica. 37,000 Indians made it to Jamaica. Most were Hindu with a small minority of Muslims. The greatest influence was the cuisine. Roti and curries have become part of the nation's food.

Today, most Indo-Jamaicans are Christians due to converts and intermarriage, but the community is taking effort to revive Indian culture in the island. There are still several thousand Hindus. Different sources estimate the population of East Indians is 50,000 and half-East Indians at 42,000. Many have migrated to Florida, New York, Toronto and London. ive also done a little math but im not good at it. so i asked some one else to do it for me. and they got somewhere around 90,000+ just from multiplying jamaicas's population from the correct website UWI. but if thats not enough ill keep looking cause i want to see an exact number myself and not a percentage.

Also on the indo jamaican page the bottom paragraph said this: Approximately 70,000 Indians live in Jamaica today, maintaining their own cultural organizations and roots but assimilated into the wider community. Traditional Indian foods such as curry goat, roti and callaloo have become part of the national cuisine and are now seen as 'Jamaican'. The influence of the Caste system has largely atrophied and arranged marriages are no longer common. Descendants of the immigrant workers have influenced the fields of farming, medicine, politics and even horse-racing. Names such as Chatani, Chulani, Tewani, Mahtani, Daswani, Vaswani and Chandiram have become synonymous with manufacturing, wholesale, retail and in-bond businesses providing employment for thousands of Jamaicans. Cricketers of an Indian, as opposed to African, background have found success in representing both Jamaica on the domestic scene and the West Indies.

just go by what others are saying and stop being ignorant.

From what ive found out its better to put either 90,000 or 70,000. i dont care what the cia says there always changing something. anyways peace mi bredren*

You may not want to admit it but without any bias you will admit Carter is on the decline. He is 31 years old and can you tell me he is going to get better? Hi Blackjays1. I know the British have settled in Jamaica and mixed with the blacks. Then the east indians arrived in Jamaica and they also married with the blacks. Later the Chinese came to Jamaica and some intermixed with the blacks. So there were a lot of mixing.

Are all or most blacks Jamaicans have mixed ancestries in Jamaica? Can you tell me what percentage of black Jamaicans have mixed ancestries? Thanks. 72.140.11.75 (talk) 01:15, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
