I'll dig out some photos from last time I was there. - BozMo(talk)

I'm not entirely sure this church is a cathedral, as I didn't see any reference to a bishop or diocese on its web page. Also, nobody can seem to agree on exactly what world record this church breaks. - Montréalais 20:05, 29 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Fair point on height: I think it is the highest domed cathedral rather than highest cathedral. I have however met the bishop although his relationship to the two papal delegates in permanent residence is obscure to me - BozMo(talk)

This church's website gives its height as 158 m while Ulm Munster is 161 m and Sagrada Familia 170m (if that part is finished. Rmhermen 23:57, Apr 29, 2004 (UTC)

Not sure about the thirteenth apostle bit. His picture is next to others involved. These is also a popular guidebook rumour he was buried there which was false. BozMo(talk)

Norte-Dame de la Paix is not the highest church in the world - see German list of the highest churches. But it is the largest (see Guiness World Records) 68.165.95.210 17:51, 9 Jul 2004 (UTC)

This article should be moved to its proper name of Basilica of Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro or Basilica of Our Lady of Peace (or its official French derivative), as it is officially listed by the Vatican registry. It would also be easier to guard against confusion over the vast many, more notable historic churches bearing the name of Notre Dame. --James Easton 20:14, 12 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Contradictions

- "The cost of the basilica doubled the national debt of Côte d'Ivoire", and later the article states - "The president personally financed the basilica project."... So which is it? The state paid for it or the president? You know finding these minor contradictions and inaccuracies throughout Wikipedia does far more harm to its reputation and credibility than, say, a page of obvious vandalism.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.50.21.242 (talkcontribs)

[edit] Is this worth mentioning

According to Demographics of Côte d'Ivoire, only a minority (20-30%) of Côte d'Ivoire's population are Christians, and Islam is probably the most common religion followed by indigenous beliefs. --Nick Dowling 08:26, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Major basilica?

I thought that only the four basilicas in Rome (St. John Lateran, St. Peter's Basilica, St. Paul outside the Walls, and St. Mary Major are ranked as major? How come Basilica of Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro is listed as major? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.191.144.135 (talk) 14:51, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
