"The first Soviet atomic device was tested on August 29, 1949" source: Wikipedia Andrei Sakharov. This is a Talk page. This is a suggested addition. Are suggestions welcome? --Wetman 06:23, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
- 2005 - Hurricane Katrina devastates much of the U.S. Gulf Coast from Louisiana (especially New Orleans) to the Florida Panhandle, killing more than 1,417 and costing over 75 billion dollars in damage. (source: August 29).
- I think it would be self explanatory to add Katrina's landfall in New Orleans to the selected anniversaries. Jlove1982 14:04, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
I deleted an item from the Events list - the alleged invention of chop suey in NYC in 1896. No one knows just who invented chop suey or even what year it was invented, much less the exact date. Even the Wiki article on chop suey, which the item linked to, cited multiple references to chop suey from the 1880s. PubliusFL 19:00, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
