Atchison and Pike's Peak Railroad

The Atchison and Pike's Peak Railroad is the original name for the Central Branch Union Pacific Railroad.
The A&PP was incorporated on February 11, 1859 and was involved in several treaties with the Kickapoo Indian Tribe that allowed the railroad to be established as a connection to Colorado gold mines.
On January 20, 1868, the railroad opened the section between Atchison and Waterville, Kansas.[1]
