[edit] spelling corrections outside the main space
If you're here because I corrected the spelling of a word outside the main article space that confuses you, here is my reasoning: I'm currently working on fixing spelling mistakes in wikipedia (of which there are a lot). What I'm doing right now is plugging common typos into google and using AWB to run through them all and correct the typos. In some cases (for example, the word occured), google finds 5000+ instances of the typo. AWB unfortunately can only load in 1000 pages from google. This means that if I want to get at all the typos in the mainspace, I have to correct spelling in other areas (user space, talk pages, etc.), in order to lower the number enough so that AWB can get at all the other typos. If I have corrected your spelling, or spelling on a page in your user space, please do not take any offense. I am simply trying to improve wikipedia one word at a time.
My new job involves a significantly higher time commitment than the previous one, so expect a lower contribution rate and semi-regular disapearances for work or personal reasons.
