Area code 920

North American telephone area code 920 is a state of Wisconsin area code which covers much of Eastern Wisconsin, and was created on July 26, 1997 when Area code 414 was split, with the north half becoming the new area code 920. The number was chosen in honor of Green Bay Packers defensive end Reggie White, whose jersey number was 92. The southern half, which remained 414, was later split into 262 and 414.
