Area code 315 is a telephone area code in central Upstate New York. It stretches from west of Syracuse to Little Falls, north to the Canadian border, east to Massena and south to shortly before Cortland.

New York State regulators announced that area code 315 is projected to become “exhausted” during the third quarter of 2010. Currently, the New York State Public Service Commission is weighing options to be implemented in the later part of 2008. Options include an overlay area code or a split into a second area code. Future border splits may include a north/south arrangement that would Oswego County and parts north to a separate area code from Syracuse, NY, or a split of east/west that would split Oswego, Onondaga, and western counties from those to the east of them.
