Down below is what I believe what would happen if dinosaurs did survived.
The Smarters or smarters, are race of dinosaurs that evolved in North America 5 million years ago. Smarters are the second smartest animal besides humans with a intelligent percent of 99.9%. Deino sapien means "knowning terrible". These creatures unlike the Mesozoic dromeaosaurs, have a beak and some teeth and have tiny feathers the look similar to those on a penguin but with longer feathers on the head like that of a human with hair. They and the humans had a gobal domination war until in the 1700's, they went extinct.
They were discovered in 1992, but never was released to the public until 2005.
[edit] Evolution
The smarters were probably descented from Bambiraptor, a small dromaeosaur that may survive the mass extinction of the dinosaurs. In fact, it was size that saved them. Any land animal at that time was any thing larger than a cat went extinct. So, the small dromaeosaur was as big as a chicken and so it survive the K-T extinction that wiped out 70% of all life on earth.
As the Age of Mammals appeared and the survivors evolved into tree climbers. This means that they didn't have to compete with the birds and the mammals for dominating for the earth. As millions of years pass, they grew and evolved into dinosaurs that act more like primates then that of a dinosaur. And their intelligences grew and because of this, they can sovle problems and didn't had the same fate as those of the Creodonts as they were replaced by carnivore mammals.
By 10 million years ago, Cynosauria mexicona evolved. It's face was some-what similar of that of a baboon and started to evolved a beak. It also started to walk on all fours but mostly started using it's front limbs as arms, able to hold and grab objects. It camed from Mexico.
By 7.5 million years ago, Deinopteryx torrus evolved bigger and badder. Although the size of a mastiff, it was soon using it's brain to sovle many problems. How to get food, how to find shelter was a piece of cake for D.torrus. It also lived in Mexico, but soon conqured the South-Western parts of America.
By 5 million years ago, Deino americanus or the razptor came. It was found all over the western side of the U.S. It was as big as a Honda Pilot along with a very big powerful brain. Because of this, it evolved in a solitary hunter. It evolved with faster legs and quick turns like that of a lion or a tiger. But it also used tools to crack a bone to get the flesh from the bone.
Then at 3.5 million years ago, three species evolved from razptors. D.rufus or rufus, called by the sound they made, rooffiss. They were the smallest of them all and mainly scavage dead bison. D.rex or rex was the largest of them all. It was a monster and was twice as big as the razptor. It hunted the largest mammoth bull and can easily defend it's kill from the Arctodus. The third one was D.prosapien or the packers. The packers were 4 feet tall one all four limbs. However it was the first on to walk upright. By two limbs, it was 6 feet tall but it was almost hunched over. Unlike their cousins, rufus' and the rexes, they formed packes and soon used tools to kill their prey or to scare off predators away. They were the smartest of the three and soon the rufus' and the rexes died off.
Then 2.5 million years later (or 1 million years ago), the smarters were born. They had tools and walked upright almost the orginal tri-pod, tail dragging dinosaurs. Their killer toes were soon were short and stubby thanks to spears and other weapons. They're almost everywhere in the U.S.

[edit] Body Structure and Breeding
The body structure of a smarter is that they have their diapsid skull, but yet the eye socket moved all the way to front of the face but still retain their long snout. They have a beak with 8 teeth (4 on top and 4 on bottom). The nostril moved a little further from the beak like that of a parrot. Yet they have other traits that still make them dinosaurs. Like upper arm bones and a main hip bone and tibia. Yet, their shoulders moved half-way were a human's shoulder is. The leg structure is more erected for them to able to walk upright. The hands are also changed. The "thumb" had evolved shorter in order hold things easier. And that of the sickle claw had also been stubby (probably the result of weapons they've used).
Their feathers have change. Unlike the prehistoric feathered dromaeosaurs which their feathers are similar to those of a parrot, the smarters feathers are more like those of a penguin. In fact it looks like how a human has hair all over thier body. Yet one top of their heads, are longer fur-like feathers same as how human has hair. This is the result of a convergent evolution, when two species copying each other.
Also, smarters began to "talk" and also copied words and sounds they hear. In fact, they can understand vocabulary way better then a parrot or an ape.
Despite their human similarities, they mate with the doggie-style. They mate all year round like humans.
Like humans, their warm-blooded. Which means they can go everywhere. One set back is their eggs. The eggs are similar to that of an ostrich and is very tough to open. The warmer the egg is the quicker it'll hatched. They solve this by making fire and put the egg on a high tree. With smoke, it warms the egg up. The process last for 18 days.

The social structure is a mixture of a human tribe, wolf pack and a lion pride. They like a human tribe because they think and they solve problems together. They like a wolf pack, because if their clan member or their eggs were kill, they go crazy start to attack the killer. It'll stop until the killer is gone or killed. They like a lion pride because usually there's one or two males and serval females (although they have been know to have young males stay at the group). Despite this, a group of smarters is called a division.
The social ranks depend on, not by size or colors, but by skilled and leadership. The alpha male, or hunter, is ranked as leader. They all depend on hiss wisdom and memory. The alpha female, or huntress, also has the same role. Like humans, only their offspring can become a hunter or a huntress. The skilled males and females are the ones who find food. They also rely not by comand of the hunter but by each other. The least skilled are the workers. They take care of the alpha pair's offspring, called huntties, and their offspring. The also build shelters and they're the ones who build the weapons.
The weapons are very different from early humans' weapoons. They have a double-head arrow which is has deadly as a sword. They're made it from bear teeth and lion claws. They made the club trident which is a broken bone with sharp teeth from that of a wolf. Some use long sharp sticks with rattle-snake poison. Rarely they'll use their beak.

Despite their reptiles, they have emotions that are similar to that of elephants and humans. When they meet their own kind smarters respect the dead. But when they see a love one, like a friend or a family, they bow down and make high-pitch sounds and even tears come out. They also buried their love ones like humans by digging a hole with their claws and dumped the body to groud. When angry, they fling stuff around, they kill other animals or they make hooting sounds. When happy they yell and howl and make hand gestures. Caring is very common with the workers. The workers play with them and tustle with each other. They even risk their lives to save them thats how much they care about not just offspring, but also adults. In fact, they may cheer up or help their divison.

Smarters are omnivorous, which means they can eat almost anything. From mammoths to turkeys and from leaves to berries. They can even eat grass and plants that are poison to humans. They use their spear to catch fish in a river and climb a tree to get honey from a bee hive. Rarley they'll eat bark but according to cave paintings, they have been known to eat their own kind but that stop around 0 C.E. for unknown reasons.

Smarters evolved in North America, but when the land bridge came that connected to Asia, the smarters soon migrated up there but only a few made the journey. As they found the land, they soon started to make villages and art work. Their second place to dominated was South America, and here they started making relgions and even made gods, somehting a human would do. Then they went to Europe they had a war with the Neanderthal and lasted for years. When they went to Africa, the first humans called them the Kasai rex. This is the first part of a long history of the smarters and humans. They never reached Australia or some of the islands. For the other islands, they got there by rafts.

Humans and the smarters had a long history of war. The first took place in Africa, when the bushman started hunt them. Soon, the smarters overpower their rivals. On islands, they died off of either hunger or war with the first humans. In Europe during the Middle Ages, they reffered them as dragons and were mistaking them for as fire-breathing monsters because of their uses of tourches. It was an equal match. But the smarters won but had a low number. By 1452 C.E, European smarters went extinct. In the New World, the smarters died out when they fought againsts the natives of South America at 1500 B.C.E. But they made them as gods, such as Quetzalcoatl or Tepeu in the year 1150-500 B.C.E. In North America, the Native Americans called them the Unktehila, reptilian monsters that fought them. Although they say the Thunderbird killed the Unktehila, the smarters probably died out at 1600 in North America by either natives or by a virus. In Asia however was different. They worship them as gentle and brave spirts. In fact in some places, the smarters and the humans teamed up against other countries at war. While others in Asia had them as slaves. The Asin smarters died out at 1300. The last smarter was in Africa in 1732. When a European was looking for slaves he found one. It was huntress. Her family died of a virus. She saw the man and asked for help. Fear into the man and he shot the creature. After 1732, no smarter was seen or found at the fossil records.

When dinosaurs were discovered, the smarter wasn't considered because no one lived to tell about the smarter or because the smarter was too bird-like beacuse at the time people thought dinosaurs were giant lizards. As with more great discoveries on dinosaurs smarters were forgotten. But not for long. Because in 1992, a bushman discovered the 200 year old of the last of the smarters in Africa. But some kept it top secret. The discovery wasn't introduce to the public until 2005 when they showed the bones of it at the American Museum of Natural History. And soon dinosaurs, thanks to the smarters and their kin the birds, dinosaurs never went extinct before man and man did indeed saw a dinosaur.
