[edit] Guidelines for writing articles
Please feel free to announce your new Singapore-related articles here (newer articles at the top). Before doing so, please check that they comply with the following guidelines:
- The articles must be notable.
- Statements and facts must be backed up by adequate citations and references.
- Where possible, please create articles that are at least "Start Class". Over 53% of Singapore-related articles are currently of Stub Class (click here to see the statistics), and many of these were created and then neglected. Instead of creating a new stub article, why not consider expanding an existing one?
- Do not create a listing page if more than half of the articles that will be in the list have not been written yet.
Sticking to these guidelines will help to minimise the unnecessary listing of articles for deletion by other editors, and the subsequent hassle involved in fellow SGpedians appealing for their retention (click here for recent examples). We have already lost a fair number of articles which could have been expanded, and thus wasted the efforts of the editors who created them. If you need help or would like to seek the collaboration of experienced editors on an article, do post a message at our talk page.
To help fight vandalism of articles, please add articles that you are interested in to your watchlist and revert any vandalism that occurs.
[edit] DYK suggestions
Any new articles that have an interesting or unusual fact in them should be suggested for the "Did you know?" box on the Wikipedia main page. DYK has a 120-hour time limit from the creation or major expansion of the article. Also consider adding such articles to the Singapore Portal.

Articles undergoing a GA drive are not owned by those participating in the collaboration; even if you are not a collaborator, do be bold and improve articles undergoing a GA drive.
Articles don't write themselves. So write them!
[edit] Nominated articles
If you spot an Singapore-related article that has GA potential, please nominate it for the GA drive. Nominators are welcome – even encouraged – to adopt articles. Nominations should be formatted in this manner:
- * '''[[ARTICLE NAME]]''' (Notes such as "failed GAC on 4 July 2007" or link to ongoing peer review, if applicable): list issues that need to be addressed, such as "needs copy-editing" or "lack of references in History section"
- *:adopted by list SGpedians who have adopted the article, using [[User:USERNAME|]]
To adopt an article, simply add your username to its "adopted by" list and remember to participate in the collaboration! Once three or more SGpedians have "adopted" an article, it may be moved to the "Articles undergoing a GA drive" list below.
- Bonny Hicks (failed GAC on 28 March 2007): The article needs a copy-edit. The GA reviewer also commented that the article needs more context (he also asked for more references, but they appear to have been provided).
- Not adopted yet (CyberAnth is primary contributor).
- Fann Wong (former GA, delisted on 15 January 2008, see reviewer's comments): The "Awards" section is unreferenced, the "Works" section is empty, the lead section should be polished and several short paragraphs should be expanded (or merged into other paragraphs).
- Not adopted yet.
- Flag of Singapore (failed GAC on 26 December 2007 due to hold expiring, see ongoing peer review): The lead section should be rewritten. Several sections are not written in summary style. The article also has a few MoS violations that should be addressed.
- Adopted by User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) (Jacklee is primary contributor).
- I Not Stupid Too: The Plot section needs to be summarised and the Reception section expanded, after which the article should be copy-edited and checked for MoS violations.
- Adopted by Hildanknight.
- Marine Parade Community Building (featured in DYK on 29 September 2007): The lead section is too short and should be expanded. Several minor prose issues also should be dealt with.
- Odex's actions against file-sharing (failed FAC on 7 December 2007, failed GAC on 18 December 2007 due to hold expiring): There is a dispute over whether the screenshot from the "Xedo Holocaust" animation should be included. The article needs copy-editing and the lead section should be polished.
- Not adopted yet (Mailer diablo, the primary contributor, left Wikipedia).
- Singapore (former GA, delisted on 16 July 2007, see GA/R and recent peer review): The article needs more references and a copy-edit. It also has many MoS violations that need to be dealt with.
- Not adopted yet.
- Singapore 2006 (failed GAC on 18 January 2007): The article offers weak coverage of several areas (such as logistics) and needs a copy-edit. Several short sections are problematic.
- Not adopted yet (Huaiwei has expressed interest).
- Singapore Airlines (failed GAC on 7 October 2006): The article has a long history of disputes, which must be resolved for it to be stable. Some sections are poorly referenced. Short paragraphs should be merged or expanded.
- Not adopted yet.
[edit] Articles undergoing a GA drive
The GA drive is a new and experimental method of collaboration. Discussion, criticism and suggestions should be posted on the talk page.

[edit] Failed
List here alphabetically articles that were nominated for GA status but failed to achieve it, and brief reasons why this occurred for members' information. The list should be cleared or archived regularly.
- Odex's actions against file-sharing (failed FAC on 7 December 2007, failed GAC on 18 December 2007 due to hold expiring): This article is about a current event and might not be stable. It needs copy-editing and the lead section should be polished.
- Not adopted yet (Mailer diablo, the primary contributor, left Wikipedia).
[edit] Collaboration
- Project page : Wikipedia:SGpedians' notice board/Collaboration
The New SGpedians' Collaboration is an open-ended project which aims to improve coverage of Singapore-related articles. There are many issues that may be common knowledge in Singapore, but are not included or/and known outside Singapore due to lack of research into the topic. It is also a good way to counter systemic bias in coverage of historic events that are outside the Internet era.
