Hayao Miyazaki
Hayao Miyazaki (Japanese: 宮崎駿) (born in Tokyo on December 5, 1941) is a leader in the area of anime, or Japanese animation. His name is pronounced "Hi-ow Me-ya-za-key".
He is best-known for movies such as Spirited Away (2001), My Neighbour Totoro (1988), Kiki's Delivery Service (1989), Porco Rosso (1992) and Princess Mononoke (1997).
His company is named Studio Ghibli. In 2001 he won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for Spirited Away. The Academy Award is a prize given to movies every year in California, a state in America. He won the prize for his movie Spirited Away. He is the first person to win the prize.
