Patrick Victor Martindale White (Knightsbridge, London, 28.5. 1912, – 30.9. 1990) bio je australski pisac koji se smatra jednim od najvećih romanopisaca na engleskom jeziku u 20. vijeku. Od 1935. godine do smrti je izdao dva romana, dvije zbirke novela, osam drama i publicistiku. Proza mu slobodno varira od narativnih tehnika do tok svijestii. Godine 1973. dobio je Nobelovu nagradu za književnost.
