Tanzania is divided into 26 regions (mkoa) (capitals in parentheses):

- Mwanza (Mwanza)
- Pemba North (Wete)
- Pemba South (Mkoani)

- Ruvuma (Songea)
- Shinyanga (Shinyanga)
- Singida (Singida)
- Tabora (Tabora)

The regions are subdivided into 98 wilaya (districts).
