Data for the mainland regions are provided by the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics Statistical Abstract of 2002, except that the data for Lindi Region is rounded to exactly 67,000 square km in the Statistical Abstract, so perhaps more accurate data for Lindi are taken from the World Gazetteer. Data for the regions of the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba are provided by Statoids.
