Within two days, I already made 20 edits in Wikipedia (not including the ones under my IP adress). Most of which are just grammitical errors and I only reverted an article once. I hope I have a good luck editing articles in Wikipedia. PrestonH 19:30, September 27th 2006

I'm using recent changes to greet new users (the newcomers) and revert vandalism I see on the recent pages. Oh yeah, I found a log where all the recently created accounts are created, so I can greet them all.

Vandal tags
Thank you for reverting vandalism on Wikipedia!
Be sure to put warning tags on the vandal's user talk page (such as {{subst:test}}
, {{subst:test2}}
, {{subst:test3}}
, {{subst:test4}}
). Add each of these tags on the vandal's talk page, in sequential order, after each instance of vandalism. Adding warnings to the talk page assists administrators in determining whether or not the user should be blocked. If the user continues to vandalize pages after you add the {{subst:test4}}
tag, request administrator assistance at Request for Intervention. Again, thank you for helping to make Wikipedia better. Srose (talk) 15:26, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Was reading through your User Page
I was reading through your User Page and I saw that you like to read other people's user page's and/or userboxes. I am suggesting you see my user page then: http://www.wikipedia.com/wiki/user:OdinReborn I edit things here and there, and my User Page isn't all that much, but hey, it's just a suggestion. I did enjoy reading your user page, I can tell you're going to be a good mathematician someday, just remember: Negative B plus or minus the square root of B squared minus four AC over two A, you'll be using it in very basic high school math XD OdinReborn 16:40, 21 November 2006 (UTC)OdinReborn
Very true Preston, it was the quadratic formula indeed! XD Yea...that wasn't exactly hard, lol. I would put another one, but typing out a mathematic problem using words is sorta hard, and if I were to try to set it up as an equation, it doesn't come out right o_o; Thank you for replying though, I appreciate it!
P.S: I have no idea what the time frame for Pacific Time Zone is. I live in the U.S, so I can only assume that it's farther west then the Pacific Standard Time (-3 hours from Eastern Standard Time) I also do not understand "UTC", if you could refer me somewhere to show me what the timeframes are (I assume it's around the world) then that would be greatly appreciated. I'm saying this because that way I could at least get an idea of what time difference you have to me. OdinReborn 13:46, 22 November 2006 (UTC)OdinReborn
I've read the entire article (And UTC article) but alas, I still don't quite understand it. I would be able to accurately tell the difference if I knew where you lived (I could use my time zone standards to see the time difference) but of course, I don't intend for you to, I don't have the right to just blatantly ask lol. Thank you for the article though, I really do appreciate it, and i'll be sure to look over it again to see if I can grasp anymore of it. OdinReborn 16:52, 22 November 2006 (UTC)OdinReborn
Ha ha, I see, I see, alright, it all makes sense now. We were having a misunderstanding between terms. You say Pacific Time Zone, but I say Pacific Standard Time, both of which are the same thing XD I'm Eastern Standard Time, therefore i'm three hours ahead of you (I've memorized the United States time zones XD) So, it's 12:33 PM here, it should be about 9:33 PM there =) OdinReborn 17:33, 22 November 2006 (UTC)OdinReborn

Crime Section in List of Muslim Converts
You have contacted me because I tried removing the Crime section in the List of Muslim Converts article ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Muslim_converts ) . Having this section is spreading negative stereotypes that presents an evil view on a peaceful religion. Myself and others are very offended to see this up, especially when other list of converts from other religions, like Christianity and Judaism, do not have such a section. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Keranu (talk • contribs) 10:13, 21 December 2006 (UTC).

Your recent edit to Poland]
You found the edit by 194.129.64.35 to be blanking a valid paragraph, while actually he removed some nonsense content. Did you read the relevant text? In consequence your edit was regarded as a vanadlism and reverted (not by me), pretty unpleasant when trying to do the good job. Maybe try not to go too fast? BTW, your message for 194.129.64.35 was quite misleading and I think it would be nice if you could rectify this. Best, --Beaumont (@) 17:41, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello fellow user! Can you help me get used to being a wikipedian?
SonicSuperSpeed 23:40, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
What are you doing??
Hey kid, you're too young to be an obsessive vandalism fighter on wikipedia. That job is for bored, neurotic adult wikipedians who take all this far too seriously. Maybe you'll get there some day. As it is you should be doing something better with your time. Do your parents know about this activity? -- 74.98.253.40 04:20, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Userbox
You have a userbox that says you're an advanced mathematician. Is that true? What is the highest level of mathematics you've learned so far? Just curious. -- 74.98.253.40 04:25, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Preston, I don't think that anyone knows "most of geometry." Geometry is a huge subject. Mathematicians spend entire lifetimes studying just one sub-branch of geometry. No one lives long enough to be able to comprehend all or most of geometry. I think what you mean is that you know most of the geometry that you are aware of. Your naive view of math shines through when you use phrases like "advanced math" and "advanced mathematician." THe phrase "advanced math" is far too vauge to have any real meaning. And nobody speaks of "advanced mathematicians" and "non-advanced mathematicians." A mathetician is necessarily advanced in math. The way to become a mathematician is to discover and prove a new theorem. How good a mathematician you are depends on how profound your discovery is. If you want to be a mathematician then you should master what they teach you at school and then study at a more advanced level on your own by acquiring the next higher grade's math books. Once you understand high school level math (up to calculus), you can take university math courses without having to be a university student. If you are gifted at math (which you appear to be) then you have hit the jackpot and you shouldn't worry about anything other than math. If you work hard at it, math will open all the doors for you. You will be able to become a millionaire through Mathematical finance, or you could become a research professor if you decide to stay in academics (or you could do both). There are of course many other applications of math as well, such as in medicen or cryptography, it's just a matter of what you're happy with. Other people are happiest focusing on pure math itself (as opposed to its applications), and they usually work at universities and research institutes. The one thing that is clear is that if you have a gift for math then you should focus on that, even if it means that you fail in all your other classes (not that you should TRY to fail in other classes). You must have a talent for math but you should learn a lot more as fast as you can, the pay-off will be huge in the long run. -- 74.98.253.40 05:26, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Avocado vandalism
Ahuacatl actually does mean 'testicle' in Nahuatl. It is not nonsense at all. The name was given because that is what it looks like. But if you do not wish for accurate information on this encyclopedia, then leave it out.

Your signature
Hi PrestonH. I hope you don't mind me mentioning this, but do you know that your signature takes up about 4 lines of code in my edit box? IMHO this is a little excessive. Could you tweak it slightly? One way of making it look less cluttered could be to use X11 color names instead of hexadecimal code for the colours. Or you could take a few links out of it? Thanks, – Riana ऋ 03:59, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Ah well, that's fine. I only commented on it because I found myself getting confused when removing a report from AIV and your signature was on the page also - sigs are really the least of our problems :) Take care, thanks for being gracious, and happy editing. – Riana ऋ 04:34, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Copyedis on battle of Short hills.
I committed a major copyedit on this article. When I did the commit, I got a "conflict", so someone else was editing at the same time. For reasons that I cannot yet understand, (but probably because I was not paying attention) someone elses' edits were mingled with mine. I am attempting to unravel this now. I would appreaciate it if you could monitor this situation. Thanks. -Arch dude 04:02, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

Some advice
Hi Preston.
Thank you for your work here at Wikipedia. You are clearly operating at an adult level. Based purely on your edits, I feel that your contributions exceed the level I would expect of a college graduate.
If you are in fact 12 years old, you are an exceptional individual. Please discuss your activities on Wikipedia with an adult: a parent, a teacher, a priest or other religous adivsor, or a counselor at school. Please do not stop your work here: it is valuable. If there is no adult you can trust, please respond here: I will try to find a way to help witout violating your anonominity.. With respect =Arch dude 04:01, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- Preston, your instantious response scares me. Please slow down and think. You are unique and you an extremely valuable member of our community. I don't want an instant response. Instead, I want you to think about what you are doing and how you are spending your time. If you want to change the world, you need to work on your grades instead of wikipedia. (We can help, of course.) If you edit once a week, that would be great, if you spend the rest of the the time improvoing our grades. Disclaimer: I am 57 years old and I have three children, 17,22,and 24 years old. They are all older than Preston and all are radically diferent. I do not clain to be an expertin raising kids. I would deem it an honor to be considered a collegue of Preston's, based on his edit history. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arch dude (talk • contribs) 04:56, 26 April 2007 (UTC).
