Juan Carlos Valerón Santana (born 17 June 1975 in Arguineguin, Gran Canaria) is a Spanish footballer who plays as a midfielder, currently for Deportivo de La Coruña. Previously, Valerón has played for UD Las Palmas (1995-97), RCD Mallorca (1997-98), and Atlético Madrid (1998-2000).

Valerón is an exemplary player noted for his outstanding character, and alongside players like Raúl González have been touted as role models for younger Spanish players to emulate in terms of temperament and the right dose of passion. He is known for his technical abilities, especially his world class passing skills and close control.

However, Valerón has also had a recent bad run with injuries. He suffered a knee injury in February 2006 which relapsed in August and in early 2007 (with two league appearances), leading to another round of surgery. Consequently he did not reappear until the middle of the 2007-08 season.

On January 27, 2008, Valerón returned to the bench (the first callup in 133 days) for Deportivo's game against Real Valladolid - in a 3-1 home win, with the midfielder replacing Mexican Andrés Guardado for the final 15 minutes.

He played for Spain at Euro 2000, the 2002 World Cup and Euro 2004.
