Regional Anthem of | Kurdistan Autonomous Region |
Lyrics | Dildar, 1938 |
"Ey Reqîb" (ئهٔ رهقیب in Sorani) is sung by Kurdish nationalists as the Kurdish national anthem. It was written by the Kurdish poet Dildar in 1938, when he was in a Iranian jail. Ey Reqîb means literally "Hey Guardian", but nowadays the title is usually given in English as "Hey Enemy". The song was originally written in Soranî but is also sung in the Kurdish dialect of Kurmancî.
It is also the national anthem of the Kurdistan Autonomous Region of Iraq.
