Elkland Township is a township in Sullivan County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 607 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 38.7 square miles (100.2 km²), of which, 38.5 square miles (99.7 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.5 km²) of it (0.54%) is water.
Elkland Township is bordered by Bradford County to the north, Forks Township and Forksville to the east, Hillsgrove Township to the south and Fox Township to the west.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 607 people, 214 households, and 161 families residing in the township. The population density was 15.8 people per square mile (6.1/km²). There were 503 housing units at an average density of 13.1/sq mi (5.0/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 96.21% White, 0.99% African American, 1.65% Native American, 0.33% Asian, 0.16% from other races, and 0.66% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.66% of the population.
There were 214 households out of which 27.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.8% were married couples living together, 5.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.3% were non-families. 20.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 2.91.
In the township the population was spread out with 20.9% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 21.3% from 25 to 44, 27.8% from 45 to 64, and 24.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 47 years. For every 100 females there were 101.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.0 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $35,893, and the median income for a family was $40,000. Males had a median income of $25,625 versus $19,688 for females. The per capita income for the township was $18,568. About 3.6% of families and 5.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 9.1% of those under age 18 and 9.3% of those age 65 or over.
