Chad Everett Gilbert (born March 9, 1981) is the lead guitarist for the band, New Found Glory. Chad's alter ego, Captain Straight Edge, is currently the lead singer of the hardcore band The International Superheroes of Hardcore. He was also the vocalist for the metalcore band Shai Hulud from 1995 to 1997. Gilbert was married to Sherri DuPree of Eisley for a short time; they split in 2007.[1] He has been rumored to be dating Hayley Williams, lead singer of Paramore. [2]
He is a follower of the straight edge lifestyle.
