Bettola is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Piacenza in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 140 km west of Bologna and about 30 km south of Piacenza. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,178 and an area of 123.1 km².[1]
The municipality of Bettola contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Bramaiano, Calenzano, Ebbio, Groppo Ducale, Leggio Missano, Piccoli di Calenzano, Pradello, Revigozzo, Roncovero, Rossoreggio Vigolo, and Villanova Chiesa.
Bettola borders the following municipalities: Coli, Farini, Gropparello, Morfasso, Ponte dell'Olio, Travo, Vigolzone. France's last World War I veteran, Lazare Ponticelli, was born here before moving away to Paris at age 9.
