Wacken Open Air (W:O:A) je největší metalový festival v Evropě, který vzniknul roku 1990. Festival probíhá v malém německém městě Wacken v regionu Šlesvicko-Holštýnsko, na severu Německa. Tento svátek tvrdé muziky (s více jak 35 000 účastníky v roce 2004) přivádí již 17. rok fankoušky z celé Evropy.

Každoročně tři dny v srpnu se zde představí více jak 60 kapel z celého světa na čtyřech pódiích. Během festivalu je k dispozici rozsáhlá plocha pro auta, stany.

Hudební styly slyšitelné na festivalu: power metal, death metal, black metal, folk metal a gothic metal.

Nejznámější kapely na W:O:A Dimmu Borgir, Twisted Sister, Saxon, Warlock, Satyricon, Nightwish, Motörhead, Manowar, Blind Guardian, Helloween, Gamma Ray a mnoho dalších.
