Toyotomi Hideyoshi (豊臣 秀吉?) February 2, 1536 or March 26, 1537 – September 18, 1598) was a sengoku daimyo who unified Japan. He came to power after his master, Oda Nobunaga, and ended the Sengoku period. The period of his rule is usually called the Momoyama period, after Hideyoshi's castle. He is famous for making many reforms in laws and culture, like ruling that only the samurai could carry weapons.
