Shinto shrine
From the Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can change
A Jinja (神社?) is a Shinto shrine and the natural area that is around it. Usually, jinja is how the buildings of a shrine are called. Jinjas are not like the temples of other religions, for example a church or a mosque. A jinja traditionally only exists to worship a kami (the spirits worshipped in Shinto), not to spread the Shintoist religion.
