Micky Moody

Micky Moody (Middlesbrough (Yorkshire), 30 augustus 1950) is een (slide)gitarist voornamelijk bekend van zijn werk bij Whitesnake.

December 1964 speelt Micky Moody bij zijn allereerste groepje. Schoolvrienden Paul Rodgers (later bij The Free (Free (band)),Bad Company,The Firm en Queen)- toen nog op bas en Colin Bradley heten zichzelf the Road Runners. Begin 1967 wordt Rodgers de leadzanger en vervoegt Bruce Thomas (later een van de Attractions in de begeleidingsband van Elvis Costello)als bassist de rangen. Eind 1967 treedt Moody bij gebrek aan een opnamecontract tot tot de groep Tramline toe waarmee hij twee elpees opneemt. Na wat sessiewerk bij Zoot Money, Gene Pitney en Paul Jones vergoegt moody Juicy Lucy die net een hit hadden met Bo Diddley's 'Who Do You Love'. Even speelt hij nog bij Snafu alvorens door David Coverdale bij Whitesnake te belanden. Na zijn vertrek bij Whitesnake valt Moody terup op sessiewerk en Live-optrendens met vijfde Status Quo-lid Bob Young waarmee hij ook enkele singles opneemt.

Moody speelt in een later leven samen met ook al ex-Whitesnake Bernie Marsden in bands die de 'oude' Whitesnake wilden laten herleven (Moody/Marsden (band), The Snakes, Company of Snakes en na toetreding van ook ex-Whitesnake Neil Murray als MIII (rockband). Hij maakte ook enkele singles met als Young and Moody en bracht 1 solo-cd uit. Hij treedt ook op met zijn eigen Micky Moody Band waarin ook zijn zoon Micky Moody Jr drumt.
