Hello, Greenlanders, it would be great to see some articles in the Greenlandic language. It's of course not easy with a population of 50-60,000 Greenlandic speakers, but let's hope it will be so. Best wishes, Laurentius (from the Hungarian Wikipedia).
PS. If there's anyway to help you, I hope to do so. Unfortunately I do not master your strange and mystic, but certainly beautiful language.

Jeg kan desværre ikke grønlandsk, så jeg vil skrive dette på dansk.
På adressen http://wikipedia.dk har vi oprettet en portal for de sprog der tales i Danmark, der i blandt er grønlandsk. Det kunne nok skabe en lille bitte smule reklame for den grønlandske Wikipedia hvis en eller anden ville oversætte de små stumper tekst på den side til grønlandsk. Oversættelsen skal bare indsættes på denne side Wikipedia.dk portalen så skal jeg nok ordne resten.

I have nominated the en:Music of Greenland article to be the Wikimedia translation of the week. That means, if it gets selected, it will be translated into many languages, probably at least a dozen. It has been suggested that the article should be translated in Greenlandic or some other language before being chosen, so if anybody can help out there, please do. From Uummannaq in the northern part of Greenland I'll do my best to bring some translations, arcticles etc. As a start I have to read the given instructions, but I also hope friends around in Greenland will be able to help.

[edit] Protecting the main page?
Hi everybody (sorry, I don't speak Greenlandic at all): I've seen this page to have been vandalized in frequent times. What about protecting it from external changes? There is a lot of vandalisme on the Main page, thoug i might agree about the need for at least one Greenlandic admin. Alternatively the Main Page could be protected (it only references a template) and then we could put a edit this page link on the template. ℚuackor 09:41, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

Hi there,
My name’s Dominik, I’m from Poland and I’d like to contribute to Greenlandic Wikipedia. I’m a learner of Greenlandic, do by now I’m not going to write any articles — unless someone will correct them afterwards. I’ve created articles "Europa", "EU" and "Template:EU" — I hope I haven’t messed to much with the language, so if there is any native-speaker in there, it would be great if they had a look.
I’d also like to call for canceling the protection of Saqqaa.
I hope that this Wikipedia moves a little bit and someone decides to help me in writing articles. I speak Danish, btw.

[edit] Channel for figthing vandalism
- Someone might want to translate this notis into the local language
Several languages in Scandinavia are about to set up channels for fighting vandalism, most likely a common channel will be called #vandalism-scan-wp with additional channels for local languages if necessary. For about 8 months such a channel has been active for Norwegian (Bokmål) Wikipedia and the increased effectivness in vandal fighting is very nice as it lets the users spend less time loooking for vandalism and more time on writing articles. Some of the larger languages will use separate channels for reporting vandalism, and some of the smaller will report directly into the common channel. Hello guys,
Maybe starting this discussion is going to be a bit pointless, since it seems there aren’t any Greenlanders here at the moment… The case is the logo. It doesn’t seem to be in Greenlandic, it’s even clearly impossible to have ‘r’ and ‘j’ together! I have no idea how to say ‘encyclopaedia’ in Greenlandic (I know that ‘lexicon’ is just ‘leksikoni’), but I have a few guesses for ‘free’ according to the Danish-Greenlandic dictionary:
(unlimited, not-bordered) (which I think would be the best choice): killilersugaanngitsoq
(gratis, not-paid): akeqanngitsoq
(independent): kiffaanngitsoq
I also deduct that the word meaning ‘free’ should come after the word meaning ‘encyclopaedia’.

[edit] Ny administrator?
Desværre synes der ikke længere at være nogen aktive brugere af den grønlandsksprogede udgave af Wikipedia, hvilket har givet vandaler og spammere frit spil til at misbruge wikien.
Derfor vil jeg snarest søge om at blive administrator her på stedet, så der lidt oftere kan blive ryddet op efter vandaler og spammere. En sådan ansøgning kræver lokal støtte, hvilket hermed søges.
Det er mit håb at en mere indbydende (dvs. spamfri) udgave af Wikipedia på grønlandsk vil kunne tiltrække nye bidragydere, der efter lidt oplæring kan få overdraget administratoropgaverne. Da jeg ikke selv forstår grønlandsk, er jeg ikke i stand til at være aktiv ud over den grundlæggende oprydning efter vandalisme (der alligevel lader til at blive foretaget af dansk- og engelsktalende personer).
Jeg har et par gange midlertidigt fået tildelt administratorrettigheder her, så den ophobede vandalisme kunne fjernes (kig tilbage i Recentchanges), men det er uholdbart og upraktisk i længden, derfor dette indlæg.
Fra den dansksprogede udgave af Wikipedia har jeg (ubehagelig) stor erfaring med at rydde op efter vandaler og spammere, da jeg har været administrator dér siden 2004.

[edit] Idé til nye bidragydere
Som et forsøg på at skaffe nye grønlandsktalende bidragydere til Wikipedia, vil jeg prøve at kontakte de grønlandske huse i Danmark, som jeg formoder har kontakt til mange grønlændere bosiddende i Danmark. I første omgang bliver det huset i Odense, da jeg bor i nærheden og kan mødes personligt med personale og/eller interesserede. - Kaare 23:30, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
