Mikroorganisme atau mikroba adalah sebuah organisme yang begitu kecil sehingga tidak dapat terlihat mata telanjang. Mikroorganisme sering digambanrkan menggunakan sel tunggal, atau mikroorganisme unisel, namun beberap protist unicell terlihat oleh mata telanjang, dan beberapa spesies multisel tidak terlihat mata telanjang. Ilmu mikroorganisme disebut mikrobiologi.
