The Clash est le premier album du groupe britannique de punk-rock The Clash. Il sort au Royaume-Uni le 8 avril 1977.
C'est un premier album punk et garage très énergique, dans la lignée de Never Mind The Bollocks des Sex Pistols. Les paroles sont déjà revendicatrices. Cet album appelant clairement à l'émeute et au rejet des USA (I'm So Bored With The U.S.A.) il ne sort pas aux États-Unis en l'état. Une version plus "soft" est finalement éditée en juillet 1979 spécialement pour la marché US... Cet album américain comprend également des titres comme I Fought the Law ou (White Man) In Hammersmith Palais, notamment, ne se trouvant pas sur la version britannique de l'album.
- White Riot : cette chanson appelle les « blancs » à prendre modèle sur les émeutiers noirs du carnaval Jamaïcain a Londres : « I want a white riot » (Je veux une émeute blanche). Morceau brut et rapide.
- Career Opportunities : texte évoquant les problèmes de chômage au Royaume-Uni. Cette chanson sera plus tard reprise sur leur album Sandinista!, chantée par un chœur d'enfants.
- Police & Thieves : chanson reggae de l'album du a l'influence de Paul Simonon, le bassiste fou de dub. Un premier métisage commence a se faire sentir dans la musique des Clash.
- Garageland : Auto-critique du groupe, se considérant comme un groupe garage venant de Garageland ("We come from Garageland !")
- I Fought The Law : reprise d'une chanson de Bobby Fuller Four signée Sonny Curtis.
