Charles Torrey Simpson est un botaniste et un malacologiste américain, né le 3 juin 1846 à Tiskilwa dans le comté de Bureau (Illinois) et mort le 17 décembre 1932 à Lemon City (Floride).

Il travaille de 1899 à 1902 au National Museum of Natural History, après son départ à la retraite il s’installe dans le sud de la Floride. Il reçoit un doctorat de science honoraire à l’université de Miami en 1927.
