[edit] Philip Beckley

You blanked the page, removing all content, here. This action, when done by a page's creator and primary editor, is considered to be a request to have the page deleted. The policy behind this can be seen here, in the seventh criteria. These cases, where the author blanks a page he/she has just created, are generally the case of someone creating a page, and then realizing that they do not actually want the page to remain. But they do not know the proper way to get it removed, so they blank it. So, we take the very blanking action as the request for deletion. Further consultation with the author is not needed. And in the very, very rare cases like yours where deletion was not the author's intention, a note to the deleting admin is generally enough to get the page restored. As I have already done with your page. (I also reversed the blanking you did.) - TexasAndroid 13:45, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Request

Hi there. I noticed that it says on your talk page that you are doing translations of articles from English into Polish on Wikipedia. I was wondering whether you could briefly translate some of the Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine articles into Polish. Their fashion programme What Not to Wear airs in Poland I believe, where it's known as Jak się nie ubierać?, so they are notable enough. I've been doing loads of work on their articles here on the English Wiki, so it would be great if you could find time to do this. Keep up your good work and many thanks. Eagle Owl 19:49, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks a lot, I'll remind you in a month or so, the translations will only need to be a few sentences just to outline the main career points.
On another note, it would be great if they do make a reply. Many thanks. Eagle Owl 16:51, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Translation

Hi there again. I think it's been about a month — I just remembered to remind you to do the small Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine translation (hopefully you'll have time). I also found out that their programme Trinny & Susannah Undress airs in Poland (Trinny & Susannah rozbierają) like What Not to Wear. Good work getting the Dawn French picture, we had some trouble a while back trying to get an image. Also, if Trinny and Susannah's people have not got back to you, you could try and get permission to use these pictures if you want: Trinny Woodall, Trinny Woodall, Susannah Constantine (right) and Susannah Constantine (right), the photographers might be flattered by your request! Many thanks. Eagle Owl 20:51, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Segner-wheel

A tag has been placed on Segner-wheel, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A1.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. MasterXC 16:46, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Leonid Hurwicz

Hello. Thanks for uploading this photo. I understand the school gave permission but (from the IRC channel) understand that it was insufficient permission as far as Wikimedia commons goes and is marked for deletion. Do you know if the permissions were resubmitted? Thanks again and sorry to ask but I hope the photo can stay. -Susanlesch 06:48, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks again. Happy to see all is well now. Best wishes. -Susanlesch 19:56, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Barbara carrera drawing.jpg

What is wrong with this image? --Zureks 06:42, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

It has been removed from the Barbara Carrera article on multiple occasions, so I took the hint and just included it as a link to the commons image. Plus I'm not especially happy with my rendering, so a photo would be preferable. — RJH (talk) 14:45, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sources for Soft Magnetic Materials Conference‎

I don't know what the notability criteria are for conferences, but I suspect that if you don't find some more sources, someone (not me) is going to nominate the article for deletion. Perhaps a professional magazine, or local newspapers covering the conference? -- John Broughton (♫♫) 00:41, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
