Zend Certified Engineer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Zend Certified Engineer Certification (ZCE) is an internationally recognised PHP certification established by Zend Technologies. An exam must be passed in order to be awarded the certification. It shows a person is fully qualified to develop PHP web applications, and is now a Zend Certified Engineer (ZCE).
To help Zend Certified Engineers gain employment, Zend lists all the persons whom have passed the Zend PHP Certification Exam in its directory, Yellow Pages for PHP Professionals. Also, they allow ZCEs to place a ZCE logo on their personal web site/resume.
There are over 2050 certified Zend Certified Engineers currently in the world between the PHP 4 and PHP 5 versions of the exams. Zend's PHP 5 examination was introduced in August 2006, and the PHP 4 exam was retired in March of 2007. Both versions are multiple choice examinations, with the pass/fail score kept secret. Zend's PHP 5 exam costs US$125 at the current time.
