[edit] Likay and Yike and Jikey...
There is a very huge difference between the Yike (Khmer) and the Likay (Thai). They may have been of the same origin and forked off from each other later, but today they hardly bare anything similar to each other.
The Thai form is very Thai-ized and uses piphat music, while the Khmer form still uses the big Yike drums combined with an ensemble including string instruments like the tro. The Khmer costumes still retains a Malay feel (especially in the hom rong performance) while the Thai costumes are very glitzy and based on classical Thai costume. And lastly, the Malay jikey is probably the origin of these two theatre forms, if not, then they are are at least related to it. --Dara 13:31, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
