[edit] Really Dumb
You guys know that a modded xbox that can't play xbox games is just a really crappy TV-computer? Maybe in the criticism place it should be pointed out that you're better off buying a cheap $300 PC.
[edit] Move to Wikibooks
Is adding index enough for removing the Move to Wikibooks notice? I leave the choice to other editors.
An index doesn't turn a non-encylopedic article into a proper one. This is a how-to, written in the "first person" and is Original Research -- hence it doesn't belong on Wikipedia, but can find a home on Wikibooks which includes similar articles. Thus, I've replaced the notice. LeFlyman 05:40, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
- Well, maybe it will. In Wikibooks it may become a modding guide with illustrations.
Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, and that includes instruction manuals. Removing the merge proposal and replacing the notice for moving to Wikibooks. -- DSGruss 19:13, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hardware warnings
It could be helpful to include a warning that the hardware swap is not for ameture users. The different versions of the xbox case can cause different version xbox motherboards to short, usually damaging a transistor or differnt part(preceding statement verified) and possibly standard mobos to short also (not verified)
[edit] Illegal?
Is it illegal to sell a linux box? I don't think it is, but I could be wrong. I think it is illegal if you install hacked/illegal BIOS's or include illegal software
- It is, because it bears the Xbox trademark (as with Retropod, which beared the Sony trademark). If you modify your Xbox such way that it no more performs the Xbox functions, it's no more an Xbox, it's something different, that cannot be sold under Xbox name (like Retropod, which is a Sony Walkman shell with removed internals, that can no more perform Walkman functions, ant therefore it is no more a Walkman, and cannot be sold under Walkman name). Probably if you remove all plates bearing the Xbox trademark, you can sell the modified machine.
[edit] Meh
This article is not organized and told from a different point of view as "standard" wikipedia articles.
[edit] Micro ATX
Are micro atx motherboards a good fit for an xbox case?
