Void Indigo

Void Indigo was a short lived and highly controversial comic book series written by Steve Gerber and drawn by Val Mayerik, it was published by Epic Comics from 1983 to 1984.

Void Indigo started life as one of the first graphic novels (Marvel Graphic Novel #11) published by Epic Comics in 1983. It was then meant to spin out into a further 6 issue mini series again published by Epic. However reaction to the first issue of the mini series was highly negative from distributors due to the extreme (for its time) portrayal of violence. Critical reaction to this violence was harsh, one critic went as far to call the series a "crime against humanity".
It focused on an alien from a peaceful race named Jaghur (known on earth as "Mick Jagger") reincarnated with a spirit of vengeance against seven demons that tortured and killed a more barbaric incarnation of his soul. He came to Los Angeles at the end of the graphic novel.
Orders for the second issue dropped dramatically due to this pressure and Archie Goodwin, the editor-in-chief of Epic Comics, considered it was not worth publishing the book due to the severe pressure he and the company were under.
Issues 3-6 were never completed and it was thought the ending of the series was lost forever. However the synopsis of issues 3-6 was later leaked onto the internet, providing an idea as to how the series would have finished.
