Hello. My alias is voidxor. I joined Wikipedia on 2005-07-15 and made 204 edits in my first year and 344 edits in my second year as a contributor.

[edit] Origin of voidxor

If you are a computer programmer, you may have already noticed that voidxor is a concatenation of the programming terms void and XOR.

Originally, I had planned to use voidxorsub as my alias. A function that returns nothing (this is called a subprocedure in Visual Basic) must be declared void in C, C++, and C# or sub in Visual Basic. Since XOR represents the exclusive-OR logic gate, placing it between void and sub indicates that one or the other would be used to declare a function that returns nothing, but never both terms.

Each computer programming term in voidxorsub denotes a piece of my programming knowledge:

  • void for C, C++, and C#
  • XOR for Boolean logic
  • sub for Visual Basic

Because voidxorsub is annoyingly long for an internet alias, I ultimately decided to go with voidxor.

[edit] Education

I am currently working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering at the University of Kansas.
